Taylor Swift gets the cold shoulder from 'Romeo and Juliet' actor Douglas Booth

Taylor Swift will start the new year in a familiar place: alone. Her latest crush, English actor Douglas Booth, has told pals in London that he’s not interested in the “Mean” singer.

We’re told Swift was in hot pursuit after spotting the 21-year-old “Romeo and Juliet” star at a party at the West Hollywood Soho House in November.

“Taylor kept on making an effort to flirt with Douglas, but he gave her the cold shoulder and was extremely dismissive towards her,” says our insider.

Swift was not taking no for an answer, we hear, and made several attempts to lure Booth in.

“She would get a drink and then approach him; she would chat with [actress] Hailee Steinfeld and then re-approach him; she was even trying to chat him up near the flowers on display. It was all very funny for those of us watching,” says our snitch.

But it was to no avail. Our spies say Swift looked dejected at his lack of interest and was overheard in the ladies’ room telling Steinfeld about her disappointment.

“Taylor and Hailee were chatting about Douglas while they all touched up their makeup,” says our source. “Taylor was whining and complaining about his aloofness toward her. She looked like an animal circling its prey, when she tried to get his attention.”

Well, something worked. They’ve since been spotted out on a few dates in London, but a friend of Booth tells us he has been scared off.

“Doug is a young guy and is enjoying the single life,” says his pal. “He was quite taken aback about how keen Taylor was. She has been in touch with him, but he just wants to be friends.”

Booth should be concerned about ending up in the lyrics of the next Swift hit. Some of the country-pop darling’s music has been inspired by men she has dated.

Swift dated Joe Jonas in 2009, and her scathing song “Last Kiss” has long been rumored to be about their breakup — which occurred during a 27-second phone call. She then had reported flings with Taylor Lautner (possibly the inspiration for “Back to December”), Cory Monteith (“Mine”), John Mayer (“Dear John”), Jake Gyllenhaal (“The Last Time”) and Conor Kennedy (“Begin Again”).

Most recently, Swift had a rocky relationship with One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles, who allegedly inspired her hit “I Knew You Were Trouble.” But then, didn’t everyone know that?

Taylor Swift: The ex-files (+playlist)

There's no denying Taylor Swift is a busy and talented lady. This week she added four American Music Awards to her swag of accolades and now she's New Zealand bound - set to play three sold-out shows at Auckland's Vector Arena this weekend.

Yet, somehow the star still finds time to be swept off her feet by famous faces (Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer, Harry Styles among them) and then, of course, write songs about their breakups. It's gotten to the point where it's hard to know exactly who she's singing about, so we've taken a look into Swifty's romantic past to see what we can match up.

Joe Jonas

I wonder if Swift ever regrets her love-life over-share on Ellen back in 2008, where she revealed her song Forever and Always, from the album Fearless, was a sarcastic jab at teen star Joe Jonas.

This is what sparked the world's obsession with sussing out who Taylor is singing about.

However that hasn't stopped the songstress from spilling her heart out over boys and breakups. In fact, Swift went on to write a few more songs about her Jo-Bro Ex: Last Kiss & Holy Ground. Joe Jonas didn't take Swift's slams lying down either, he hit back with 2009's Much Better, singing "Now I'm done with super stars/And all the tears on her guitar/I'm not bitter".

Taylor Lautner

Taylor + Taylor = Heartbreak. It wasn't long until the Twilight star was spotted at Swift's shows and being papped on dates together after meeting on the set of Valentine's Day. Unfortunately things didn't end well and after their split Swift wrote Back To December as a kind of apology song. Lyrics like "I miss your tan skin/your sweet smile" hint the song was for Lautner.

Adam Young (Owl City)

It's rumoured the song Enchanted was inspired by Swift's brief romance with Adam Young (Owl City). In response, Young recorded his own version of the song for Valentine's Day in 2011, singing "Oh Taylor I was so Enchanted to meet you too". Along with this, he penned the pop princess a love letter on his website:

Dearest Taylor,

I'll be the first to admit I'm a rather shy boy and since music is the most eloquent form of communication I can muster, I decided to record something for you - as sort of a "reply" to the breathtaking song on your current record. This is what I wanted so badly to tell you in person but could never quite put into words:

Everything about you is beautiful. You're an immensely charming girl with a wonderful heart and more grace and elegance than I know how to describe. You are a true princess from a dreamy fairy tale; a modern Cinderella. I'm terribly sorry it's taken me such a long time to reply but I figured Valentine's Day was the perfect time to write this note to you and simply say... I was enchanted to meet you too.

Love,
Adam

Too cute!

John Mayer

Dear John wasn't quite as lovely as the rest of Swift's ex-files. Swift hit hard against the singer "Dear John /I see it all now it was wrong/Don't you think nineteen's too young to be played with?/Your dark twisted games when I loved you so". The couple were linked together when Swift was featured in Mayer's song Half of My Heart. Mayer also made a cameo on stage during several of Swift's shows. Since the split, Mayer, who's now dating Katy Perry, has written is own song, Paper Doll, which is thought to be bashing Swift. With lyrics like "You're like twenty-two girls in one/ And none of them know what they're running from". Ouch!

Jake Gyllenhaal

Though the two only held hands for what seemed like second, a lot tracks from Swift's latest album Red are thought to be about the Hollywood hunk. But it was the first single We Are Never Getting Back Together that got the rumour mill churning, with the track's music video featuring a Gyllenhaal lookalike.

Conor Kennedy

There's talk that love song Begin Again is about Swift's relationship with handsome Conor Kennedy (great nephew of President John F. Kennedy). The song was written while the two were still together. While their love didn't last the distance, they are said to have parted ways on good terms.

Harry Styles

I Knew You Were Trouble was originally thought to be another track about John Mayer. However, many people now speculate it's actually about Harry Styles, especially after Swift took a dig at the One Direction heartthrob at the MTV VMAs in September. During her acceptance speech for Best Female Video, Swift said: "I also want to thank the person that inspired this song, and he knows exactly who he is, because I got one of these!" directed at a boy band member.

Ed Sheeran

Okay, so Everything Has Changed isn't about Ed Sheeran (in fact, the song could be another tied to Mr Kennedy), however this duet sparked rumours that the two musos were getting cosy. Earlier this week Swift posted a pic to Instagram of Sheeran and herself enjoying a quiet cuppa, with the words: "Ed told me to caption this 'SWEERAN'".

Taylor Swift's Five Biggest Breakups: Gyllenhaal? Mayer? Lautner? Conor Kennedy's in Good Company!

Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy have reportedly called it quits.

And while it's a dark day for young love, everyone knows that one surefire way to get over a broken heart is to find love again. Fortunately, that's something Taylor has had plenty of experience in. Unfortunately, her luck in the musical world hasn't quite translated to her love life.

And since you can't look to the future without learning from the past, let's take a trip down memory lane and relive Swift's five biggest breakups.

1. John Mayer: Taylor collaborated with John on his 2009 song "Half of My Heart." From what pop culture has managed to piece together, it wasn't long after that the twosome began quietly dating, only to end. And from the sounds of things, not well. Flash to 2010, when Taylor released "Dear John," a scathing ballad trashing the eponymous man for playing "dark twisted games" with girls' hearts.

In June 2012, Mayer, now 35, told Rolling Stone he was "really humiliated" by Taylor's song, which he (and the rest of the world) presumed to be about him. "I didn't deserve it…I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do."

But the drama didn't end there, and when Glamour magazine brought up John's hurt feelings in a recent interview, Taylor refused to listen. "No! I don't want to know, I don't want to know," she said. "I put a high priority on staying happy, and I know what I can't handle."

She also said it was "presumptuous" of John to even assume "Dear John" was about him. "I never disclose who my songs are about," she stated. Well, sometimes you don't have to.

2. Jake Gyllenhaal: Who could forget Taylor and Jake's brief but intense romance back in late 2011? Whether they were giggling over ice cream or sipping maple syrup lattes in Brooklyn, this hip duo was anything but shy when it came to the PDAs.

But before the year was up, Taylor and Jake had called it quits. Many have speculated that Taylor's new song (seeing the pattern here) "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is about her handsome 31-year-old ex. Somehow we doubt Jake will pull a John and bring this up in his next interview, though, so we may never know for sure.

3. Joe Jonas: Here's a golden rule of dating: Never break up with someone on the phone. In 2008, Joe Jonas learned that lesson the hard (and very public) way, when Taylor put the boy bander on blast for doing just that. In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she said the kamikaze breakup call "was like, a record, I think, for how quick. I looked at the call log—it was like 27 seconds." If you listen closely, you can still, to this day, hear the audience's boos.

But now that some time has passed, Joe and Taylor's split seems to be water under the bridge. In a recent interview with 94.7 FM, the Jonas Brother insisted Taylor's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" song was not written about him. "That said, I think the song is great," he added. "Taylor does pop music really well and I'm happy for her."

4. Taylor Lautner: From October to December 2009, the Valentine's Day costars were reportedly so a couple. When Tay squared parted ways after Lautner's 19th birthday party, it was allegedly because "he liked her more than she liked him."

And while we know she'll never explicitly confirm it, we're pretty sure Taylor's regretful 2010 song "Back to December" is about the Twilight star. "I miss your tan skin, your sweet smile," she sings wistfully. Her lyrics even suggest a reconciliation, but so far as we know, that's yet to happen.

5. Cory Monteith: The Glee star and Taylor never confirmed their romance in 2010, though there's plenty of photographic evidence that they enjoyed spending solo time together. However, there don't appear to be any hard feelings, as in a recent interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Taylor blushed when she was shown Cory's picture. After pointing out that she didn't date Justin Timberlake or Ashton Kutcher, she got quiet when it came to the 30-year-old singer-actor. "Mmm?" she said, quickly trying to change the topic. "What are you doing?!"

Oh, just running through your romantic history, Taylor. Might be something to get used to.

Watch Taylor Swift ACM Entertainer of the Year Acceptance Speech

Watch Taylor Swift's Academy of Country Music Awards acceptance speech for winning Entertainer of the Year for the second year in a row!

Taylor was supposed to bring a fan along to the ACMs, but tweeted over the weekend that Kevin McGuire, a high school student battling cancer, was too sick to attend the event with her.

Swift tweeted: "Just talked to Kevin McGuire. He's not well enough to join me at the ACMs. Please keep him in your thoughts. I'll make it up to you, Kevin!"

Being the all-around sweetheart that she is (haters, keep your mouths shut), she even gave a shout out to Kevin during her ACM acceptance speech.

She took to the stage to accept the Entertainer of the Year award, saying, "Thank you so much to the fans who voted for this. I am so happy about this! I want to say to my fellow nominees in this category, I respect you so much and I love you."

Taylor added, "We work hard and we try to give back, and recently I've become aware of a different struggle that's going on: My date tonight was supposed to be a high school football player named Kevin McGuire, and he's not here, but I promised to give him a shout out. So Kevin, and all your family and friends - thank you for wanting to take me to the ACMs."

Love her!

Kevin's sister started a Facebook campaign to get Taylor to go to his prom, but since she was unavailable for that date, she asked him to go to the ACMs instead.

She wrote on her Facebook page at the time: "Kevin, I'm so sorry but I won't be able to make it to your prom. But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up... Would you be my date? Love, Taylor."

Sadly, Kevin got a fever on Thursday and was taken to a Philadelphia hospital. His sister provided this update on the "Taylor Swift Take Kevin McGuire to Prom!" Facebook page:

"I am so sorry to announce this devastating news, but Kevin was admitted to the hospital last night, and is unable to attend the Academy of Country Music Awards with Taylor Swift. As we should all live by the motto 'live for today,' a cancer patient feels the impact of these words far too hard.

We appreciate everything you have done for us, and we know you are all hurt from this too... As for Taylor, she is just as depressed as all of us to miss out on this date, and we are so thankful for the opportunity she has given us."

Despite the 25 hours of chemotherapy Kevin had undergone last week, he hoped to make the trip the ACMs in Las Vegas. Ultimately, his mom told USA Today, "It was just too much to keep waiting and holding out."

Congratulations to Taylor on her ACM win and thanks for including Kevin in your special day.

Check out Taylor's acceptance speech in the video below, as well as this quick behind-the-scenes look at the ACM red carpet that she shared on Twitter - she looked gorgeous!

EXCLUSIVE: Taylor Lautner Talks About Taylor Swift

Taylor Lautner is in Australia right now for the premiere of Abduction, and we sat down for a chat and asked him about that other Taylor -- Taylor Swift to be exact.

As we all know, Lautner and Swifty dated back at the end of 2009, after they met on the set of Valentine's Day. Swifty later wrote the song 'Back To December' about their relationship. All was quiet between them for a long time, until they publicly reunited at the Teen Choice Awards last week!

Now there is absolutely no confirmation that they are back together. Last we heard, Taylor Lautner was dating his Abduction co-star Lily Collins, and Taylor Swift has recently confirmed that she is single.

But we wanted to know -- did they ever actually use the nicknamed 'Taylor Squared' to describe themselves?

"I think people have referred to us as that," Taylor told thehothits.com. "But no I've never actually said 'we're Taylor Squared'."

WILL THE TAYLOR TWOSOME REUNITE?

So ex-lovers Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner we reunited again at the Teen Choice Awards in LA last week, and the pair are rumoured to be getting close once more!

Apparently Taylor Lautner's relationship with Lily Collins is coming to an end, and he's said to be trying to take his mind off things with his beautiful ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift.

Actually, to save confusion we're going to call them Lautner and Swifty, like the big important news folk would do.

Anyway, Lautner is said to have sent Swifty a bunch of flowers and a note at the awards ceremony, and Swift was then said to have been "gushing to friends about how much fun they had," according to Star.

The ex-couple are also rumoured to have started talking a lot again a few weeks before the ceremony took place, with a source telling Star that "They first got together several weeks ago over the phone and e-mail after Taylor [Lautner] reached out to [Swifty].”

Although it could just be that the two are just mates, and Swifty's been giving Lautner some advice because “He’s been down because his relationship with Lily Collins is cooling off.”

Taylor Swift To "Tell All" In Memoir About Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal And Joe Jonas

Is Taylor Swift writing a tell-all memoir about famous ex-boyfriends like John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Lautner?

If you believe In Touch magazine, then yes. If you have a middle school education or above, then you know better than to blindly believe a tabloid's wishful thinking. As the editor of a celebrity gossip website, I'd love nothing more than for young and innocent Taylor Swift to write a scandalous exposé about her love affairs with older gentleman, but I'm taking this claim with several thousand grains of salt.

In Touch writes that T-Swift was seen meeting with book publishers two weeks ago, and then quotes an "insider" who says that the country crooner is "open to it." If only...if only.

In reality, Taylor probably is writing a tell-all about her past relationships with A-list celebrities. Except it's not a book, it's her next album. Besides, judging by the innocent themes of her songwriting, this alleged "tell-all memoir" would probably bore your pants off.

Would it include steamy first-hand accounts of hand holding, or passionate hugging backstage at the CMA Awards?

"TWILIGHT" CAST CRIED ON FINAL PRODUCTION DAY

Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart fought back tears as filming wrapped on the final Twilight movie Breaking Dawn: Part 2, because the castmates had begun to feel like family.

Lautner, who plays a werewolf in the hit vampire film series, reveals the entire cast and crew, including his famously emotionally-guarded co-star Stewart, became teary eyed as production drew to a close on the final installment of the franchise.

And the actor admits he’s still struggling to come to terms with the end of The Twilight Saga.

He says, "We’ve literally been filming these movies for the past four years. It’s strange to know I’m not going back, that I’m not going to be Jacob Black anymore…

“On the last day it did get emotional. To be honest (people cried). I was pretty upset myself but I think the biggest surprise was Kristen.”

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 will hit cinemas later this year, while Part 2 will be released in 2012.

Will you be sad when the Twilight Saga ends?

VIDEO: Taylor Swift Explains Apology Song 'Back to December'

Taylor Swift has elaborated on the painful feelings that went into her new song "Back to December," long rumored to be about Taylor Lautner, whom she dated briefly at the end of last year.

"The song 'Back to December' is an apology in the form of a song," the country star, 20, says in a new special, Taylor Swift: Speak Now, airing Thursday night on NBC. "You know, in life, you learn lessons. And sometimes you learn them the hard way. Sometimes you learn them too late."

She adds: "The song 'Back to December' is about a lesson I learned too late. And I think, when you do that, and you finally realize that you were wrong, you need to say you're sorry. And this was the best way that I knew how."

The lyrics of the song include the lines, "So, this is me swallowing my pride/Standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night."

Swift has not explicitly said the song is about the Twilight heartthrob, but she told E! News in October: "The person I wrote this song for deserves this. This is about a person who was incredible to me – just perfect to me in a relationship – and I was really careless with him."

Taylor Swift says sorry on 'Back to December,' but to whom?

Taylor Swift is known for skewering callous boys in her songs. On Back to December, a new song released today on iTunes, she sets her sites on a new target. Herself.
"It's the first time I've ever apologized in song," says the 20-year-old singer. "It's the first time I've ever admitted guilt in my music."

In the strings-laden, melancholy ballad, Swift expresses regret over the way she ended a romantic relationship. At one point, she sings, "This is me, swallowing my pride, standing in front of you, saying I'm sorry for that night."

Swift says she based the song on a conversation she had with the guy about whom she's singing. "It's not loosely based," she says. "It's almost word-for-word. It is a song and a conversation that needed to happen, because I don't want to hurt people. If you unintentionally do so, you've got to make that better."

Is Swift's Valentine's Day co-star Taylor Lautner the object of the song? The two briefly went out late last year, and Swift recently told Glamour magazine that they are still friends.

But Swift won't go so far as to say that Back to December is about Lautner.

"I feel so comfortable singing about these details and these relationships and listing times, dates, details, names," she says. "But when it comes to an interview and they say, 'Are you dating this person?' or 'Did you date this person?' or 'What's your current relationship status?' I suddenly feel very shy.

"It's such an interesting little quirk. It's like, 'Obviously, you're writing songs about your life and you're almost admitting to these things.' But when it actually comes time to talk about them in an interview, I get pretty shy and coy about it."

Back to December is the third song made available from Speak Now, the follow-up to Swift's seven-times-platinum 2008 album Fearless. Single Mine already has sold more than 1 million downloads, and the title track made its debut at No. 1 on iTunes last week. Before the album comes out Oct. 25, Swift will release two more tracks: Mean (on Oct. 18) and The Story of Us (Oct. 22).
