Taylor Swift gets the cold shoulder from 'Romeo and Juliet' actor Douglas Booth

Taylor Swift will start the new year in a familiar place: alone. Her latest crush, English actor Douglas Booth, has told pals in London that he’s not interested in the “Mean” singer.

We’re told Swift was in hot pursuit after spotting the 21-year-old “Romeo and Juliet” star at a party at the West Hollywood Soho House in November.

“Taylor kept on making an effort to flirt with Douglas, but he gave her the cold shoulder and was extremely dismissive towards her,” says our insider.

Swift was not taking no for an answer, we hear, and made several attempts to lure Booth in.

“She would get a drink and then approach him; she would chat with [actress] Hailee Steinfeld and then re-approach him; she was even trying to chat him up near the flowers on display. It was all very funny for those of us watching,” says our snitch.

But it was to no avail. Our spies say Swift looked dejected at his lack of interest and was overheard in the ladies’ room telling Steinfeld about her disappointment.

“Taylor and Hailee were chatting about Douglas while they all touched up their makeup,” says our source. “Taylor was whining and complaining about his aloofness toward her. She looked like an animal circling its prey, when she tried to get his attention.”

Well, something worked. They’ve since been spotted out on a few dates in London, but a friend of Booth tells us he has been scared off.

“Doug is a young guy and is enjoying the single life,” says his pal. “He was quite taken aback about how keen Taylor was. She has been in touch with him, but he just wants to be friends.”

Booth should be concerned about ending up in the lyrics of the next Swift hit. Some of the country-pop darling’s music has been inspired by men she has dated.

Swift dated Joe Jonas in 2009, and her scathing song “Last Kiss” has long been rumored to be about their breakup — which occurred during a 27-second phone call. She then had reported flings with Taylor Lautner (possibly the inspiration for “Back to December”), Cory Monteith (“Mine”), John Mayer (“Dear John”), Jake Gyllenhaal (“The Last Time”) and Conor Kennedy (“Begin Again”).

Most recently, Swift had a rocky relationship with One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles, who allegedly inspired her hit “I Knew You Were Trouble.” But then, didn’t everyone know that?
