“Something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging,” she shared. “It’s kind of about breaking up with all different kinds of negative attachments, whether it’s my own monsters in my own head, external voices, things that no longer serve me.”
“It was a writing experiment for me to use that as a template so that I could be talking about one thing, sharing something, and people could use it however they want and apply it to their own lives,” Ariana continued. “It’s a little feral as well. Yeah. Yeah. It’s definitely from a place that I have been maybe like too shy or polite to tap into before. And this kind of just feels like, f–k it.”

The 27-year-old “Make You Mine” singer made an appearance on Therapuss with Jake Shane on Thursday (June 18).
During the conversation, she spoke about dating her 28-year-old Los Angeles Chargers quarterback boyfriend Justin Herbert, why they kept their romance private for a while, unintentionally going public, dealing with OCD, viral clips with famous sayings that have made their way around the Internet, and her decision to stop smoking weed.
Find out what Madison Beer had to say…
On her relationship with Justin Herbert:
“My boyfriend is a Pisces man…when I’m having a conversation with my boyfriend, my hair could be on fire and I wouldn’t have noticed. To be honest with you, he’s the first person I feel that way about. The world can be ending around me and I wouldn’t know well. Which was kind of cute…I think that, it’s just so mature. I guess if that’s the right word, which I’m sure obviously comes with age, but I think that I also am at a point in my life where I’m like, ‘what do I really want for my future?.’ Do, I want to just f–k around forever? No, I don’t, I know what I want. And I feel like that was also really big with us. Meaning it felt like he was, I don’t know, he just came into my life with the perfect time.”
On where they had their first date, and eventually making their accidental public debut last August:
“Dude, literally at my house because we were just, scared to go in public. We were so nervous…we were just trying, we weren’t trying to keep it private because we cared. It was just more so for us, especially when you’re first with somebody and dating them, you don’t want to publicly be out there. And then what if it doesn’t work out a month later? So I’d rather it be really, serious at that point. So I think we just were like, ‘we don’t need to be out in public.’ And we have no problem sitting in my kitchen and talking for eight hours. We don’t need to, go do things.”
“And that day was literally my album photoshoot. And he was just there and didn’t know there was a paparazzi outside. And what’s so crazy is we weren’t even ever meant to go outside. We were only ever meant to shoot in the house and randomly the photographer was like ‘the wall outside is really cute. We should just shoot there.’ I have these, big angel wings on. It’s ridiculous. And so we did it and nothing came of it. And then the next morning, I see the photos and no one has clocked him yet. It’s all just my fans being like ‘Madison‘s shooting’ because I had angel wings on…so no one had said anything. And then my friend who is in a Chargers discord, and he’s a huge Charger fans and he’s like, ‘what is this?’ And he sends me a screenshot of it and he’s like, ‘I just got this, got put in the Discord. And people just realize that that’s Justin.’ And I was like…I knew any second it was about to go everywhere. And I was just like, ‘oh my God.’ And it was fine. I mean, we weren’t stressed about it. And now we’ve obviously just embraced being kind of public.”
On her OCD:
“This is what made me actually want to seek out help because someone that was on my crew on my tour has diagnosed OCD, has been diagnosed for ten years. And there was one day on tour, last tour where it was like, ‘guys, let’s meet in the lobby at noon. We’re all going to go get lunch.’ And I was like, ‘amazing, see you guys down there. Just posting on Instagram really quick.’ This is at 10:30. So plenty of time to get an Instagram post up and then get to lunch. And I legitimately didn’t leave my room till 4:30 PM. I’m not joking. And I was sitting there and I was like, ‘This is disturbing’…I think I’ve had a lot of issues with control. I think that’s also where my death anxiety comes from, a whole different conversation…I think it’s just a, it’s a lack of control, a lack of knowing how it’s going to come across, lack of ability to dictate the perception. It’s just all of it. I think it’s too much for me.”
“I think for a long time I was really embarrassed…but now it’s a meme and it’s funny…I look back and I’m like, ‘I was 16 and I had balls on me’…I look back and I can be proud of that younger version of me because I’m like, ‘you know what? You stood on business.’”
“I was just talking to a group of people and [Ariana Grande‘s] ‘thank u, next’ had just come out and I was like, ‘wait, guys? I have tea.’ And that’s what I thought. I was telling them tea. And it was something cute. And I think that it the hardest part of all of those types of things was having to be like, ‘oh wait, I can do something that I think is pure intentioned and fine’, and then the Internet can be like, ‘oh my God, she’s so cringy and annoying.’ And then it makes me, question my personality. And it made me just be like, ‘am I cringy and annoying?’ And ‘is that who I am?’ And so I think that sucked. And I was really young. I mean, I was 20 when the video thing happened, and then I was 16 when the other thing happened.”
On her favorite song to sing on tour:
“My favorite song to sing is my song “Envy The Leaves,” which I doubt you’ve ever heard. It’s a very deep cut off of Silence Between Songs. And I just love it so much…I feel like I, I’m sure a lot of people who sing also can relate to this, where some songs just, take you completely out of your body and you just sing and you almost, you black out and you don’t even know that you just sang a song. That’s what that song does for me.”
On quitting weed:
“I stopped smoking weed like a year ago…fully quit because I just, I had one night where I was like, ‘oh my God, I’m going to die one day and be in a coffin forever.’ Didn’t love that thought when I was stoned. So then I said, ‘I’m going to put that down.’”

Following a delay on tickets going on sale, rumors started swirling that Ariana was leaving the production, but the musical’s social media accounts have seemingly shut them down.
The show posted a photo of Ariana on stage during a stop of her Eternal Sunshine Tour, sharing a quote from composer Stephen Sondheim, who wrote the music and lyrics for the musical.
“‘Only way to make a work of art.'” they wrote in the caption on Wednesday (June 17), adding, “Our Dot is putting it together on The Eternal Sunshine Tour. That’s what counts.”
The London production of Sunday in the Park with George, starring Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey, is set to launch in 2027 at the Barbican Centre. Tickets are slated to go on sale this fall.
If you don’t know, the musical follows painter Georges Seurat as he meticulously works on his masterpiece, “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte,” while navigating his complicated relationship with his lover Dot. The second act of the musical later shifts to his great-grandson, George, exploring how art, love, and creative legacy echo across generations, with Dot now aged to be elderly.
Coming up later this year, Ariana is also set to release her new album petal, and she’s starring in the new movie Focker-In-Law!
The 32-year-old “hate that i made you love me” superstar fought back tears while onstage during her eternal sunshine stop at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night (June 14) in Los Angeles.
Ariana was preparing to sing her track “Hampstead” when she suddenly got teary and cried, explaining that she felt overwhelmed “in the most beautiful way ever.”
“You can’t do this to me, you know what I mean, because you know what’s going to happen. You know I’m a cancer. This is going to happen,” Ariana amusingly went on to say, shouting out her fans for being a “loving, safe presence” for her.
“Holy s–t, holy f–k. Thank you,” she added.
Ari is also launching a new philanthropic endeavor: the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation, focusing on protecting trans and LGBTQ+ rights, expanding access to mental healthcare, community support, arts education and more.

The 32-year-old pop star launched the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation focusing on protecting trans and LGBTQ+ rights, expanding access to mental healthcare, community support, arts education, and more.
According to the post Ariana shared on her Instagram, the foundation will be launched with four different funds partnering with organizations like the Humanity Crew and Trans Lifeline.
Here’s the statement she shared.
I am beyond excited to finally announce the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation. Our mission is to support, protect, and provide resources for our vulnerable friends in need. Through four different funds, we will be supporting handfuls of incredible organizations that provide the safe space and care that is desperately needed by so many right now.
It has been my privilege to be able to support these causes on my own over the years, and I’m grateful to now be able to expand that reach and amplify the life-saving work that these organizations do through the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation.
The Protect & Defend Fund is one of several funds that is part of the foundation, and they advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, civil rights, and reproductive justice; Heal & Dream Fund is to help expand access to mental health and community support; Seen & Celebrated Fund goes to combatting LGBTQ+ erasure and ensuring their voices are heard; and the Emergency Support Fund is a responsive fund to aid communities during times of collective need.
Ariana Grande is calling out the White House for using one of her songs in a video supporting ICE agents.
The multi-Grammy Award winning singer responded to a TikTok post shared by the White House earlier this week set to her song “Bye” that features ICE agents arresting and handcuffing people.
“Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense,” she wrote in response, per Reuters.
Variety confirms that the comment was made, though it is currently being hidden.
“For some reason it’s not publicly visible,” a rep told the outlet. Her team is looking into getting the song removed.
In a separate statement shared with Variety, the White House responded, “We’ll say this one last time: what’s actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens.”

The 42-year-old stylist, who has worked with everyone from Kim Kardashian to Ariana Grande, shared a selfie with the 44-year-old “…Baby One More Time” pop icon on Monday (June 1).
“As a kid growing up in England, Britney Spears was the soundtrack to so many moments. Never in a million years did I think I’d one day be standing behind the chair (or in this case her standing behind mine, lol) styling her hair,” he captioned their photo together.
“Some moments really do come full circle. She is not only an icon, but one of the most genuinely kind and gentle souls I’ve ever met,” he added.
Days ago, Britney opened up about doing arts and crafts, specifically making a stained glass piece. She shared her thoughts on the hobby, getting over emotional issues of being in her kitchen and what gave her the highest consciousness she’s ever felt in her life.
