Justin Bieber to Co-Headline World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show with Madonna, Shakira & BTS

FIFA and Global Citizen announced that Justin Bieber has joined the lineup as a co-headliner for the historic FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show!

The final match is set to happen on Sunday (July 19) at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

Justin joins a lineup that also includes Madonna, Shakira, and BTS for the first-ever Halftime Show at the World Cup.

“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can. I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world,” Justin said in a statement. If you aren’t aware, the show is helping support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which works to expand access to quality education and soccer for children worldwide.

The 11-minute performance will also feature Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS22 Chorus, the acclaimed choir of fourth- and fifth-grade students from a public elementary school in Staten Island, New York, alongside Coldplay. The halftime show has been curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

“When it comes to what the world needs, there is nothing more important than education. We are proud to have Justin Bieber joining Madonna, Shakira and BTS to co-headline the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund and our mission to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children around the world,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said. “Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel and PS 22 Chorus ft. At one point during the documentary, Paige reveals an alleged DM sent from Ariana.

The alleged DM reads:

“i am flattered and i am sure you’re very sweet. but i just wanted you to know, i looked back a little ways on your page and i think someone should tell you if they haven’t today that you’re very beautiful as YOURSELF. without all the make up and trying to make your face look more similar to someone else’s and whatnot. i had to say it because it is the truth. always do what makes you happy of course but if i didn’t say that to you, i’d regret it. you’re beautiful as you are. take care”

Paige previously made headlines as fans took issue with her starting an OnlyFans account while dressed as Ariana, calling it “misleading” and “creepy.” Years before that, Ariana briefly reacted to seeing the teen dressing as her.

At the same time, there’s an update about who Ariana has been hanging out with lately.

Why ‘Heated Rivalry’ Can’t Get Emmy Nominations, But Connor Storrie Might Still Get One

The 2026 Emmy Awards nominations are coming out this week, but Heated Rivalry won’t be on the list.

While the popular Crave series, starring Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, was a hit among audiences and critics alike, it is unfortunately ineligible at the annual awards show.

Why is Heated Rivalry not eligible for the Primetime Emmys?

The Crave original series did debut in the 2026 eligibility window, which is from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026, BUT, it’s not an American series, which is it’s biggest hurdle in gaining any nominations.

While the show did air on HBO Max in the US, the streamer did not contribute to the production in any way, other than just purchasing licensing rights to air it.

Heated Rivalry was fully funded by Bell Media, Crave’s parent company in Canada. The Emmy eligibility rules state, via Variety, that a “foreign television production is ineligible unless it is the result of a co-production (both financially and creatively) between U.S. and foreign partners, which precedes the start of production, and with a purpose to be shown on U.S. television.”

Is Heated Rivalry able to get any kind of Emmy?

The hit series may not be eligible for the main Emmys show, but the show could still be nominated at the International Emmy Awards. The submission deadline was in January, but nominees won’t be announced until September.

We’ll have to wait and see if they make the list!

Back in June, Heated Rivalry, along with stars Connor and Hudson, were recently nominated for another awards show.

How Connor Storrie could still get nominated for an Emmy

While Heated Rivalry is not eligible for the Primetime Emmys, star Connor Storrie could still receive a nomination…

The actor’s work on the show won’t be recognized, but he is favored to receive a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his work hosting Saturday Night Live back in February!

Per Variety, Connor was submitted for consideration alongside fellow season 51 hosts Bad Bunny, Ryan Gosling, Harry Styles, Jack Black, Colman Domingo, and Will Ferrell in the same category, as well as Amy Poehler, Olivia Rodrigo, Melissa McCarthy and Ariana Grande for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.

Past hosts who have won the Emmy for SNL include Dave Chappelle, Tiffany Haddish, Melissa McCarthy, Betty White, and Justin Timberlake, as well as former cast members who returned as host like Maya Rudolph, Eddie Murphy, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, and Jimmy Fallon!

If you missed it, this Emmy winner was just announced as host of the 2026 Emmy Awards, taking place on September 14th.

Justin Bieber may be headed to one of the biggest stages in the sports world!

On Thursday (July 2), TMZ reported that the 32-year-old “Yukon” singer is in talks to perform at the final match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to World Cup sources, FIFA officials are discussing the possibility of bringing Justin on board to perform during the first-ever World Cup Halftime Show alongside previously announced co-headliners Madonna, Shakira, and BTS.

The final match of the 2026 World Cup is set to take place on Sunday, July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The World Cup kicked off on June 11 with Katy Perry, Future, Tyla, LISA, and Anitta performing at the opening ceremonies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Last month, Justin made a surprise appearance at the 2026 NHL Draft to announce this year’s top overall pick!

Ariana Grande Reschedules Three Concert Dates Across NYC & Boston Due to Production Issues

Ariana Grande is apologizing to fans after announcing that three upcoming concerts have been rescheduled due to production issues.

The Grammy-winning singer is currently in the middle of her Eternal Sunshine Tour, which is completely sold out and has been receiving rave reviews from audiences.

After wrapping up all the shows in Oakland, Los Angeles, and Austin, Ari‘s team likely realized how much work goes into deconstructing and reconstructing the stage for each city and more time is needed between upcoming cities to ensure the stage can be built properly.

Three shows are affected by the schedule changes

New York City’s Barclays Center show on Sunday, July 12 has been moved to Tuesday, July 14. The venue announced the new date is to “ensure the full production can be delivered safely and as intended. The remaining Brooklyn shows will take place as originally scheduled.”

Boston’s TD Garden announced that the show originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 22 will take place on Thursday, July 23. The show originally scheduled for Friday, July 24 will now take place on Sunday, July 26.

All tickets will be honored for the new dates.

Justin Bieber is showing support for his home town’s professional ice hockey team!

The 32-year-old “Love Yourself” singer is from Canada and has been a proud fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs since he was young. He was invited to day one of the 2026 NHL Draft in Buffalo, New York on Friday (June 26) to announce this year’s top overall pick.

In a video shared by the official Maple Leafs X account, Justin is shown walking out in red track jacket featuring the Maple Leafs emblem as he greets the crowd and makes his way down to the main stage to chat with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.

During his walk to the stage, the multi-Grammy winner shared how “grateful” he was to be there as someone who has been “a Leafs fan since I was just a little boy.”

“Man, what an incredible night. Awe, man, the child in me is ecstatic right now,” he said.

Once on stage, Justin announced 18-year-old Gavin McKenna as the 2026 NHL Draft’s top pick.

Gavin was named one of the “Big 10 freshman of the year” after his “first season at Penn State,” and he ranked fifth in NCAA scoring. With the hit HBO show Heated Rivalry becoming an international hit, many new fans have been discovering hockey and the NHL actually responded to the increased interest generated by the show’s popularity earlier this year!

Phoebe is going on tour later this year

Phoebe is embarking on the The Lost Tour this year, an arena tour that kicks off in September in Indianapolis.

The North American leg of the tour treks through the United States and Europe before two hometown shows at Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome before heading to the UK, Ireland and Europe in November.

Max Martin and Shellback are making big money moves.

The Swedish pop songwriting icons announced a partnership with their collective, onstage during the 2018 ASCAP Pop Music Awards on April 23, 2018 in Beverly Hills, California., and investment firm HarbourView Equity Partners.

HarbourView acquired the publisher’s share of select compositions written by the collective, including hits by Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and The Weeknd among many other stars.

The acquisition price is “in the low nine figures” according to Variety, but HarbourView did not confirm and said the company does not disclose deal terms.

“At HarbourView, we invest in culturally relevant intellectual property and the visionary creators behind it. Max Martin and Shellback continue to hold their place as hitmakers in contemporary music, and through Wolf Cousins they have built an extraordinary creative ecosystem spanning generations and genres. We are proud to partner with them and help steward the legacy of this remarkable catalog,” founder and CEO of HarbourView Equity Partners Sherrese Clarke said in a statement.

“Wolf Cousins was founded to bring songwriters and producers together in an environment built on collaboration, mentorship and creative development. HarbourView’s long-term vision and respect for creators make them a natural partner for this body of work,” Max and Shellback said in their own statement.

Wolf Cousins includes legendary songwriters like Ilya Salmanzadeh, Oscar Holter, and Tove Lo, and includes hits contributed to stars like Demi Lovato and Imagine Dragons.

Songs included in the deal include Taylor Swift’s “Style” and “…Ready For It?,” Ariana Grande’s “Problem,” “Into You,” and “No Tears Left To Cry,” and The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face.”

While the deal includes songs recorded by artists like Taylor Swift, it doesn’t affect ownership of the recordings themselves. Instead, HarbourView purchased the rights to collect some of the future publishing income earned by Max Martin, Shellback, and their songwriting team whenever those songs are streamed, played on the radio, licensed for film and TV, or used in other ways.

Taylor Swift still earns money from her own share as a songwriter and performer on songs she co-wrote, and her rights to those songs and any future re-recordings are not affected by the deal.

For songwriters like Max Martin and Shellback, deals like this provide a huge upfront payday instead of waiting years or even decades to collect royalty payments. In exchange for a large lump-sum payment today, they sell the right to receive some of that future income. The buyer is betting the songs will continue generating enough revenue over time to make the investment worthwhile.
