Miley Cyrus' dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, could have his own reality television show, but his famous daughter has begged him not to do so. Why? Simply because she doesn't want him ending up like Bruce Jenner.
"Billy Ray has turned down what must be his sixth offer in the last four years because Miley has been very strict with her parents about not doing them, even though they have been offered a fortune by all the big players, including Bravo, Lifetime and E, to open up their home to cameras," a member of Miley's team revealed to RadarOnline.com.
Why does she not want them on TV? She doesn't want to see their relationship or life spiral downwards like Keeping Up With the Kardashians dad Bruce. She also probably doesn't want them to cash in on her fame. Miley isn't linked to her parents financially anymore, so the TV options look nice to them.
"Miley would much rather do a Christmas special or a concert at the Hollywood Bowl with her dad rather than watch him embarrass himself like Bruce Jenner on TV every week," the source continued.
"Ultimately, she was very thankful they came to an understanding together that it would be a bad idea," the insider said. "Miley is a student of the mistakes of the people who have come before her, and she always thought that Britney Spears' decision to do a reality show [2005's "Britney and Kevin: Chaotic"] was the beginning of her downfall."
"For now, Miley doesn't want herself or her parents becoming reality TV bottom feeders," Radar's report added. "Billy Ray agrees with her and it seems to have helped their relationship."
