Congratulations to Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock, who welcomed their daughter River Rose Blackstock on Thursday, June 12.

The excited mom took to Twitter on Saturday morning to share the good news with her anxious fans. "Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!!" she wrote, along with a smiley face.

Seems fitting to make the announcement on Twitter, given that's how she announced that she and Brandon were expecting, which she shared back in December, calling it the "best early Christmas present ever." Now, it looks like Brandon just got the best early Father's Day gift ever.

Kelly definitely didn't have an easy pregnancy. During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (video below), the singer said that she had terrible morning sickness, saying that she vomited "at least a dozen times a day." At the time, they didn't know if they were having a boy or a girl, but Kelly said they had already picked out a unisex name for the baby, which we obviously now know.

Kelly and Brandon tied the knot in October of last year at Blackberry Farms in Tennessee. River is the first child for Kelly and Brandon has a son and daughter from a previous marriage.

A huge congrats to the proud parents. We can't wait to see pics of their little bundle of joy.

Kelly Clarkson Calls Selena Gomez "Sexy, Classy" After Dissing Miley Cyrus

Kelly Clarkson pretty much slammed Miley Cyrus after the MTV Video Music Awards but that doesn't mean she's ill towards every young, female performer out there!

"Dear Selena Gomez, you are by far one of the most beautiful, sexy, classy things on this planet," Kelly tweeted on Aug. 27.

"#Goddidgood #texasgirls," she added, pointing out that they are both from Texas.

If we were Sel, we'd take this as a compliment! Kelly totally called Miley out after her raunchy VMAs performance.

"Just saw a couple performances from the VMAs last night," she wrote on Monday, Aug. 26.

"2 words...#pitchystrippers," she continued.

While almost everyone agreed with Kelly, Miley's friend was quick to diss her and call her fat for talking trash on Miley's performance. Read about that here!

Kelly Clarkson GUSHES Over Selena Gomez: So Classy and Sexy!

Kelly Clarkson has made her opinion on two of music's youngest superstars very well known.

Her incredibly divergent opinion, we should say.

A couple days after slamming Miley Cyrus' VMA performance in a veiled Tweet that referred to "pitchy strippers" on stage, the original American Idol went in the entirely opposite direction when it came to Selena Gomez.

"Dear Selena Gomez, you are by far one of the most beautiful, sexy, classy things on this planet. #Goddidgood #texasgirls," Clarkson wrote online.

It's unclear what prompted the lovefest, though perhaps Kelly admires how Gomez has refused to bash Justin Bieber in public and how she stood by Taylor Swift Sunday night after her BFF made some inappropriate remarks about Harry Styles.

Either way, Selena clearly appreciated the gesture, re-Tweeting it to her followers. We now have one word for you, ladies: DUET!

Uh oh, there's a new feud brewing up in Hollywood!

This time it's Miley Cyrus and Kelly Clarkson who have beef. But why?!

Kelly seemed to diss Miley's 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance when she tweeted, "2 words....#pitchystrippers," the morning after Sunday night's VMAs.

It was obvious she was talking about Lady Gaga and Miley's live performances and although a lot of viewers agreed with her tweet, Miley's well-known BFF, Cheyne Thomas, wasn't too happy about it.

"Kelly Clarkson called Miley a pitchy stripper. Do you think she's mad because her past few singles flopped and wasn't asked to perform?" a fan tweeted. Cheyne responded by tweeting, "and she's fat and 30.."

"the reasons Kelly Clarkson is bitter could really go on for day[sic].." he continued.

Ouch!

Best idea ever?

According to E! Online, American idol producers are looking at hiring Idol alums to fill the judging spots on the panel next season.

"It's Idol stars guiding the next generation" one Fox source told E!.

Of course the first ever American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, is one of the show's top choices along with singer-actress Jennifer Hudson. They're also looking at Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert to fill the third spot, as they're looking to go back to three judges.

Who could better judge the newcomers than the people who have been in their shoes?!

We really hope all of this talk is true because it would be SO awesome! What a brilliant way to still have cool celebs on the show but with a different spin than the other reality singing competitions out there.

Demi Lovato Becomes 'A Pink,' 'A Kelly Clarkson' On Demi

Demi Lovato is sending positive vibes her Lovatics' way on her new album. She opened up about her ups and downs on 2011's Unbroken, but this year, she's focusing on the ups.

She is ready to give fans a "Heart Attack" when she drops her video for the single Tuesday night. And if you think that the message of that single is victorious, Suspex member Jason Evigan teased fans with what they should expect from her May album release, Demi, ahead of the video's premiere.

"For her age she's seen a lot, she's had a lot of big ups and big downs. She's matured very fast and I think she naturally skews in that direction," the producer said of working with the singer. "I think without realizing it she puts herself at the level with Pink. She's up there mentally with those people. She's a very smart girl. She didn't want to go and dwell. She talks about how triumphant she's been."

In fact, it's not just Pink who she's channeling on the release, but also another equally sassy, strong-willed pop superstar. "I think she's matured into a woman. I think this album, even though she's a young lady, her music this album is going to take her to like a Kelly Clarkson now. She's gonna be like a Pink after this album. All the songs are credible, there's no cheese. It's all real classic songs. I think she has one of the best voices out there right now. This album's gonna really show that and bring her to that next level where she's not a Disney star."

In addition to "Heart Attack," Evigan worked on several other songs on the album, including "Two Pieces." He revealed, "Talk about classic. That's a very timeless song. We wrote it with Livvi Franc. It's like this lullaby that turns into this huge rock chorus, pop rock. So the chorus kind of has that 'Heart Attack' huge feel where these verses are very melodic and they're swimming through almost like a ballerina thing."

Evigan also helped conceive "Made in the USA," which he considers Demi's answer to Miley Cyrus' massive "Party in the USA." He said, "It's like our love was made in the USA. It sounds kind of cheesy but it could be the biggest song of the year because it's that 'Party in the USA' kind of vibe like love song."

Then there's yet another track called "Never Been Hurt" that Evigan worked on with The Monsters and "Stronger" songwriter Ali Tamposi. "[When we went into the studio we said] she needs that up-tempo, like powerful up-tempo kind of 'Stronger' vibe," he recalled. "It's like 'I'll love you like I've never been hurt'. It's like this big triumphant kind of thing: 'I'm gonna give you my all' kind of thing."

Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson are set to hit the road together this summer for an exciting tour!

The band will be headlining the 2013 Honda Civic Tour, kicking off August 1 in St. Louis and wrapping up on October 5 in San Diego.

Kelly will be a featured guest on the whole tour along with Adam Levine‘s The Voice contestant Tony Lucca.

“I think the live outdoor kind of summer vibe is always different than the indoor arena tour because there’s less emphasis on production and more on live music,” Adam said in an interview. “It’s kind of the purist form of a tour `cause there’s not too many bells and whistles.”

Kelly Clarkson is the queen of the photobomb at the 2013 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 10) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Exclusive Kelly Clarkson: One Direction are very talented, will continue to be successfu

Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she thinks One Direction are a very talented group of chaps.

Talking exclusively to omg! Kelly, who won American Idol ten years ago, believes that One Direction have the ability to have a long career in the music industry based on their talent.

She told us: "It's funny when people ask 'why do you have longevity when coming from a signing show and other people don't', I just think it depends on the artist.

"I just think the definition of being successful is just that you've got to have the talent to back it up. I think they [One Direction] are all very talented."

Kelly wrote the One Direction track 'Tell Me A Lie' which features on their first album 'Up All Night'.

However, before she gave the song to the boys, she wanted to make sure they were worthy of taking it.

She explained: "Before nobody in America knew who One Direction was because they were on X Factor over here [the UK].

"I remember getting a call from my publisher and her being like, 'hey there's this group and they were kind of put together by Simon [Cowell] and they're called One Direction and they're kind of into one of your songs,' and I was like, 'Hmm, I wanna hear them'.

"Because those are your babies what you write and I Youtubed them and found all these videos of them actually singing live and they're very talented, that's the key thing .
"That's what I was excited about so was like 'yeah cool, take the song,' so they put it on their record and then they started blowing up in America."

Kelly is currently promoting her latest album 'Chapter One: Greatest Hits'.

The singer admitted that she was initially quite dubious about recording a greatest hits collection as she felt she was still in the prime of her career.

She told us: "Honestly, when the label asked me to do a greatest hits album I was like, 'What? I'm too young for that', it kind of freaked me out. I think people do that when their old and don't have anything else to put out.

"But then they were like, 'you know it's been a decade and you have a lot of hits so you might as well put a few new songs on there for your fans'."

Kelly Clarkson Sounds Off On Criticism Of Lady Gaga's Weight

Kelly Clarkson has a pretty thick skin when it comes to criticism over her appearance, and she credits her small town upbringing for giving her a harder shell than others in the spotlight.

"I'm from a small town, so even before all of this there [have] always been people going, 'You should wear this!' 'You're too thin!' 'You're too big.' 'You should say this!' 'You should sing this song!' 'You should do this!'" Kelly told Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson, as she sat down to discuss her new album, "Greatest Hits - Chapter One."

"There's always people [putting] their two cents in, so I'm used to that," she continued. "I guess what I just can't get past is -- I don't know if I'm just a self-involved person or whatever, but I don't care that much about others to be like, 'I think you need to do that!'"

Fellow pop star Lady Gaga was recently criticized for having a fuller figure and those types of criticisms leave Kelly scratching her head.

"I work out sometimes and [other times I] don't... The funny part, to me, with like the Lady Gagas and the Jessica Simpsons -- everybody's on them. It's like 'Y'all, sometimes people just wanna have pizza and drink [something] and celebrate,' and then sometimes people get really into like, athleticism and working out and sports... and I guess I find it funny because I've never actually never cared about another individual enough to be like, 'I feel like you're tubbier than usual.' Everyone has mirrors. We know, we're aware. When we have to go buy bigger jeans we're aware, or when we buy smaller jeans we're aware."

Kelly said Lady Gaga is teeny-tiny in real life and she respects her fellow pop star's strength.

"People act like she gains 10 pounds or something [and] it's like she's dying and she's obese and that's ridiculous," Kelly said. "Lady Gaga's one of the smallest people I've ever met in my life. She's actually Tinker Bell-like... She's a pretty strong individual. She'll probably fight back with some funny little quip.

"But I think what's cool for girls to see is other girls going, 'Hey! You know what? This is what I'm wearing right now and I'm cool with this... I'm not unhealthy, I'm not obese,'" Kelly added. "I think for all girls like the Jessicas of the world or the Lady Gagas or me or Adele or... Jennifer Hudson... whatever people wanna do with their lives, that's their [life] and I just don't understand why people care so much."

Kelly Clarkson Reveals Her One Direction Connection

Kelly Clarkson and One Direction have at least one thing in common: Simon Cowell.

So when the former "American Idol" judge approached the show's first-ever winner to write for the British boy band, which he manages, she was happy to help out. Clarkson recalled just how she was approached to pen a track for the chart-topping fivesome's album Up All Night.

"When Simon Cowell put me forward to write for One Direction I said: 'Let me hear them first.' Simon has been really supportive since I won 'American Idol.' 'Tell Me a Lie' is the cut I've got on 1D's album, as I like the story of them, how they came together as a group," she said, according to Pressparty.com. "While I wrote the song for me, it didn't fit in the current album, as I never want an album to sound like one thought."

Much like Clarkson, Cowell gave 1D their start back when they were all going to compete separately on the British version of "X Factor." He saw their potential as a group, and boom, One Direction was created.

"One Direction have worked so well in America as well as the U.K. because people love a story, plus they have this innocence about them that attracts people," she said. "There's a lot of British talent doing well in America right now. I'm a huge fan of Ellie Goulding and Jessie J."

Considering that both Clarkson and One Direction are currently working on new music, perhaps their paths will cross again. The band recently revealed they are working on their next album, and Clarkson also is hard at work on her follow-up to Stronger.

"We're already working," she said via Perez Hilton of collaborating with producer Darkchild. "I'm constantly like that because you never know when you're going to find a song and so we're always working on the next thing."

Kelly Clarkson: 'Giving song to One Direction made sense'

Kelly Clarkson has spoken about why she allowed one of her songs to be covered by One Direction.

The 'Stronger' singer provided her co-written track 'Tell Me a Lie' to the British boyband for their debut album Up All Night.

She described herself as a "writer's snob" who rarely gives her own tracks to other performers.

"Giving away my songs is not something I do lightly," she told the Daily Star.

"I'm very particular about that because my songs are like my babies. If I wanted it done I can sing it myself. I'm such a writer's snob.

"People have asked for songs and I'm like, 'I can't stand their voice, they're not singing my song'."

She explained that on this occasion Simon Cowell asked her if the group could use one of her songs, and she realised the track would work after hearing the band perform.
