Selena Gomez Lost Contract With Almay to Carrie Underwood After Rehab Stint?

Selena Gomez can thank that rehab stint earlier this year for losing big bucks and an awesome contract deal with an A-list beauty line. According to The Sun, Sel was first in line for that epic Almay make up deal that Carrie Underwood landed earlier this year, but lost it because of her personal issues.

"It was a decent payday for Selena and she was Almay's first choice. But once they got wind of her fortnight in rehab, they got cold feet," a close source told the publication.

"She had shot videos and all the press photos by the time they pulled the plug." Selena supposedly insisted that her stay in rehab was not due to substance abuse, but more to get over her rocky relationship with Justin Bieber.

Almay apparently chose to go another, more safe route, and hired Carrie for the job instead. You can see her campaign, here.

Taylor Swift To Follow in Carrie Underwood's Footsteps in Live 'Grease' Musical?

Who needs episodes of Girls when Taylor Swift could be in her very own musical? There's word our favorite guitar strumming beauty could follow in Carrie Underwood's TV musical footsteps and star in Fox's upcoming Grease Live production.

Taylor is pretty much everyone's top choice to star in the show. FOX has announced plans to air Grease Live in 2015, and both E! Online and Perez Hilton are speculating the leading role of "Sandy Olsson" should go to Taylor.

Olivia Newton-John took on the role of "Sandy" in the popular 1978 film, which was based on an original 1971 musical. But who could star as Taylor's "Danny Zuko" aka the guy John Travolta played? Some are saying Nick Jonas, Zac Efron and even Drake. But what about...gasp...Justin Bieber? We doubt Taylor would work with him but still...he'd SO fit the role.

This show will be FOX's comeback to NBC's successful Sound of Music production with Carrie last year. There's no exact date for the airing yet but it will be in 2015.

Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood Get the ‘Family Guy’ Treatment

Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift got to see what they’d look like as cartoons on Sunday night’s (March 16) episode of ‘Family Guy.’ When Peter and the gang decide to take a trip to Nashville to find God following a heartbreaking Patriots loss, they stumble across the two country superstars at the Country Music Awards.

Peter, Quagmire, Joe and Cleveland are en route to Music City on their search for God when they see a newspaper headline about Underwood and her relationship with the man upstairs: ‘Carrie Underwood Credits Her Success to Personal Relationship With God.’ So, they head to the CMAs to find her!



But the first country superstar they see is Swift, wearing blue and tuning her guitar. “Hey look! There’s Taylor Swift! And there’s Taylor Not-So-Swift,” Peter says as he sees the blonde cartoon, standing next to a bigger twin who is … less than put together.

When the gang finds Underwood, they get straight to the point: “In that song ‘Jesus Take the Wheel,’ was that like the real Jesus or was it just some Mexican guy?” Peter asks the singer.

Underwood seems a little annoyed by the question and can’t quite figure out where to tell the ‘Family Guy’ guys that God may be. As they walk away, Jesus appears and has a few words with the songstress.

“Hey! You know I don’t like you talking to other guys…” the Jesus cartoon says. Underwood apologizes as Jesus asks for money. “Give me 40 bucks,” he says, adding hilariously, “I want to buy a Toby Keith hat.”

And just like that, the ‘Family Guy’ group is back on their search, leaving country music in the dust.

Taylor Swift, One Direction Top List of 20 Most Charitable Celebrities

As long as it’s not an ex-boyfriend, Taylor Swift treats people quite well.

DoSomething.org recently released its annual Top 20 Celebs Gone Good list, and for a second year in a row, Swift ranks as its most-charitable entertainer.

The country music star earned headline honors from the feel-good ranker for the way she celebrated her 24th birthday. Proving it is better to give than to receive, Swift donated $100,000 to the Nashville Symphony, which was in financial trouble in 2013. Swift also headlined an event this year benefiting Centrepoint, an organization working to help young homeless people.

If you hear unstoppable tween screaming, that’s because One Direction is DoSomething’s runner-up in 2013. The boy band released a Red Nose Day single to help those living in poverty in the UK and Africa. They also raised nearly $800,000 to benefit cancer research. Not bad for teen idols.

The singer that everyone has been talking about since her secret album dropped on Dec. 13, Beyonce, comes in third, for headlining London’s charity concert for women’s rights: ‘Chime For Change’ earlier this year. Plus, Queen Bey made at least one little girl’s Make-A-Wish come true recently in extra-special fashion.

Paul Walker posthumously ranks fourth for his founding of charity Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW), a network of professionals with first responder skills to aid in natural disaster relief. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis round out the Top 5 for their socially conscious song “Same Love,” which calls for equal rights and an end to sexual preference-based intolerance.

TOP PICK: NBC To Possibly Produce Another TV Musical Remake, Considering Carrie Underwood Again

Can we expect to see Carrie Underwood in another live TV musical? Perhaps!

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, NBC;s entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said that the network has narrowed down the choice of its next live musical presentation to three titles and that Carrie could possibly be the star in it again!

"We've narrowed it down to about three titles, " the exec shared in the interview.

"They all have complicated rights issues and I don't know if we're going to be able to get them..."In the next couple of weeks -- we want to do this quickly -- we'll zero in on something because we have to produce it. We now have less than a year. When we did Sound of Music, we literally spent 18 months on it and had a lot to learn. We also learned a lot and I think we don't have as big of a learning curve for next time."

NBC announced that they would create another live musical presentation following the recent broadcast of The Sound of Music starring Carrie even though the show received mixed reviews. While many were on the fence about Carrie's performance, the show had tons of viewers though! The show reportedly dominated the night with NBC's best Thursday average, excluding sports, since the night of the "ER" finale. In total viewers, it proved to be NBC's best Thursday average excluding sports since May 13, 2004. Whoa!

When asked if Carrie may once again be featured in the upcoming musical adaptation, Bob replied, "Maybe, [though] I think it will be a whole different thing."

Carrie Underwood Trips On Stage During 'The Sound of Music'

It finally happened! 'The Sound of Music' aired on NBC last night and just like we knew she would, Carrie Underwood killed the performance!

The country singer's voice was awesome as she belted out every hit song and even yodeled.

One thing didn't go unnoticed though and that was her "trip" five minutes into the show. While singing and dancing Carrie accidentally tripped and almost fell but luckily she was able to recover. Fans noticed though and went to Twitter to call out her opps moment.

"5 minutes into the 3 hour musical Carrie Underwood trips. I love her. #SoundofMusic," Lexi Elisha tweeted.

"Carrie Underwood almost trips in her opening scene! May be great or a disaster," another watcher posted on Twitter.

Another thing that was a little off was Carrie's acting. She seemed a little uncomfortable during the first scenes with the children and of course, during the first kissing scene. It seemed like she loosened up a bit then and the rest of the show was a success.

NBC reportedly paid $9 million for the production and hope to replay it again. They also released a soundtrack and DVD.

In a hilarious sketch with Rashida Jones and Jimmy Fallon on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Thursday night, the singer did a Thanksgiving version of Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," complete a giant kitten behind her just like Miley's MTV EMA performance.

"You made me cook a Butterball, and then a green bean casserole," Carrie Underwood croons. "And all you did was watch football, and ignore your fa-a-mily."

The funny threesome also sang Thanksgiving themed renditions of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," Katy Perry's "Roar," "Blurred Lines" about Black Friday shopping and a Hanukkah themed version of Lorde's "Royals."

Carrie Underwood Fans Upset After Demi Lovato Makes Jab at Her on 'X-Factor'

Don't mess with Carrie Underwood, her fans are just about as protective as Beliebers!

Just ask Demi Lovato all about it! Care Bears went nuts when the X-Factor judge kind of dissed the queen of country music the other night.

It all went down Wednesday night when aspiring country singer Rachel Potter sang Heart's rock song "Alone" on the show. She explained that she chose that song because Carrie sang it before.

Demi, most likely trying to cheer Rachel on told her, "No, you would do better than Carrie Underwood!"

Carrie's biggest fans were quick to defend her after hearing Demi's comment and things got kind of ugly!

Even if her fans or the Beatles fans didn't like her version of the classic, the man himself gave her his blessing before her performance.

CMA Nominations 2013: The Battle of Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood...and Blake Shelton?!

The nominees for the 2013 Country Music Association Awards were announced today and it seems like it's going to be a battle between Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Blake Shelton this year!

Taylor, who has won Entertainer of the Year twice already, is up for the epic award again this year and she's the only female in the category! She's also battling Carrie Underwood, like always, in the Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year categories. She's up for six awards!
