Demi Lovato has shot down rumours she's engaged to actor Wilmer Valderrama.
The singer sent the rumour mill into a frenzy when she posted a full-length photo of herself to social media in which a ring can be seen on THAT finger.
Simply captioning the image with a series of colourful heart emoticons, she then went on to follow it up minutes later with the gushing message: 'Sooooo I don't think I've ever been happier in my life than this very moment that I am fully living in....'
Only adding to speculation was the very public tribute Demi made to her beau as he rang in his 34th birthday on Thursday.
Taking to Twitter, the Heart Attack hitmaker shared a photo collage of the pair, along with a touching message showing her gratitude for all her boyfriend has done for her over the years.
'To the funniest, most inspiring, incredible man
I know.. @WValderrama - thank you for helping me get through my darkest moments.. You truly are a light to this world and to my life.. Happy Birthday!!!'
However, despite reports to the contrary, reps for the 21-year-old star have confirmed that there is no truth behind an alleged proposal.
Rumours first began circulating of an impending engagement in December, after Wilmer was spotted shopping for a ring for his lady love at Tiffany & Co.
According to an eyewitness, it certainly 'looked like an engagement ring', however, they were quick to add that it equally 'could have just been a nice, expensive ring'.
'He was really low-key at the store and was trying to stay under the radar,' they observed.
Another insider revealed that the band was engraved with the personal and sentimental message, 'With you and by you always'.
HollywoodLife.com exclusively reports that Wilmer bought the sparkler right before Thanksgiving, with the saleswoman who sold him the pricey bauble revealing he seemed 'really excited and happy' as he made the purchase.
'He chose a really classic, beautiful ring,' the employee divulged to the website, speculating: 'He didn’t say what it was for but he was really excited and happy - he seemed like any other guy getting ready to pop the question.'
The on-again, off-again couple were first reported to have dated back in 2010, shortly after Demi split with Joe Jonas in May, having met when they filmed several public service announcements together earlier that year.
They remained together well into 2011, with Demi's man proving to be a rock for her as she sought treatment for 'emotional and physical issues' in October 2010.
By January 2012, they had called it quits, however, Wilmer insisted that they remained on good terms, calling her his 'best friend', while just several months later they were pictured together again though they remained tight-lipped on their relationship status.
Last February, they were well and truly back together and unable to hide their love as they enjoyed a romantic Valentine's Day sushi dinner in LA after cosying up together at the Topshop opening party the day before.
