Okay, we are firmly Team Demi Lovato over here and one of the things we love most about her is how real and honest she is. Plus she's so inspirational. Oh, and also gorgeous. And talented...

Okay, we could go on and on, but her breakdown during a recent performance of "Warrior" had us completely in shambles and cheering her on even more. Watch as Demi cries during an emotional speech at a recent Neon Lights tour stop in Nashville

She explained to the audience: "I've had a rough couple years. Alright, I guess a couple of years ago it was rough. Now I'm pretty f**king happy...But I share my story because I meet so many of you guys that tell me that you are dealing with same issues that I dealt with. Like self harm, which is something that's so taboo to talk about, and I wanted to take that stigma away from it so people have the courage to get help and ask for help for it..."

Demi continued: "You tell me about other things that you deal with, like being bullied or having an eating disorder or having a substance abuse problem, and I want you to know that I've been through all of that...I want you guys to see that if you open your mind and your heart to the power of surrendering to happiness and health, you can truly have a better life."

Demi Lovato Performs Emotional "Warrior" First Time Live: Watch

Demi Lovato performed her song "Warrior" for the first time live recently at the Red Light Traffic's Dignity Gala.

The significance here is that Demi has said in the past that "Warrior" is such a personal and emotional song she didn't know if she could ever perform it live.

She did...and it was beautiful. No doubt it was an emotional experience, but one the event's audience and her fans are praising her for.

She even earned a standing ovation from those at the event.

Not too bad, considering she told the crowd first that not only was it her first time performing it live, but that she hadn't rehearsed it ahead of time.

Demi Lovato: I Was Suicidal at Age 7

Demi Lovato's struggles as a teenager with bulimia and cutting are well documented. But her anguish goes back a lot further than that.

Lovato landed her first gig at age 7, singing the theme song on Barney & Friends. Things may have looked perfect to an outsider, but they were far from it.

"At the time, I was just so grateful to be on TV, but I was also really struggling," Lovato, now 20, tells the August issue of Cosmopolitan, on newsstands July 9.

"Looking back, there was a connection, probably between any kid who's ever sang that song to Barney, a little place in a child's heart, a void, that could be filled. And maybe Barney fills it. Even before Barney, I was suicidal. I was 7."

In the midst of her pain, Barney helped her through.

"I guess subliminally, I did have a relationship with this figure that was saving my life in a way," she says. "I've talked about being bullied and the years of being a teenager, but I went through things when I was younger that I've never talked about that probably caused me to turn out the way I ended up turning out."

The Meaning of 'Warrior'
The X Factor judge also opens up – somewhat – about the haunting lyrics on "Warrior," a song about betrayal and innocence lost from her new album Demi. The song includes the lines: "There's a part of me I can't get back/A little girl grew up too fast/All it took was once, I'll never be the same/Now I'm taking back my life today."

"My family knows what it's about," Lovato says. "When I'm ready to open up that subject with the outside world, then I'll be free to talk about it. But right now, it's kind of one of those things where the lyrics speak for me. It's all in the song."

Elsewhere in the interview, Lovato talks about the cowardice of drug use – "If you're spending your entire early 20s chasing the next party, what are you running away from? That's not a badass … Being a badass is handling your shit" – and the milestone of her upcoming 21st birthday.

"I look at birthdays as celebrating another year of life," she says. "You've made it another year. An entire year. Some people don't make it to 21."

Demi Lovato Speaks Up on Rehab: 'Nick & Selena helped me in rehab'

Demi Lovato may have had dark times in the past after being checked into rehab for self-harm and eating disorders. Despite these depressing times, Demi Lovato had two friends she could definitely rely on for help. Proving yet again how great friends they are, Demi speaks up on rehab and having Selena Gomez by her side.

Former BFFs, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have rarely been spotted together this year. For one, the hoped reunion at the Billboard Music Awards never happened. The only reunion that did occur was between Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber.

Still, this doesn't mean that the former Disney stars aren't good friends. In fact, Selena and Demi have constantly been supporting each other's careers on Twitter. Gomez has also made a point to announce Lovato's big invite for her 21st birthday party.

"I grew up with Demi, I've known her since I was seven...we've had our distance and we've had our moments, but she's one person that I will always love and she'll always have a place in my heart," stated Gomez, adding, "She better be at my birthday party."

While Gomez has been busy with her booming career, Demi Lovato has also been equally busy with hers. The "X-Factor" judge is an ambassador against cyber bullying and she's helping out teenage girls from getting checked into rehab. As for those dark days, Demi Lovato talks about that part of her life and how Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas helped her go through it.
"Thankfully my family and friends supported me in rehab and everything I went through. Nick especially & Selena ..she called me crying while I was in rehab and she was very worried," said Lovato.

"Hey! I should be crying! It's okay.' She was very generous and provided that we were getting closer," continued Demi, adding, "Nick has always been there for me as well.. I'm more confident then I've ever been. To me, confidence is sexy."

"Semi" fans are definitely happier with Demi's reveal which should certainly bring a stop to the countless rumours that these former BFFs are feuding. If anything, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez that through the ups and downs of fame, they have each other for support.

Demi Lovato on 'Warrior': 'It Was The Hardest & Easiest Song To Write'

Demi Lovato arrives at HMV London to promote her new album, Demi, on Monday afternoon (May 28).

The 20-year-old musician recently chatted with Billboard about her new album and specifically, on writing “Warrior”.

“That song was probably the hardest and easiest song to write on the album,” she shared. “I was writing about personal experiences, and it’s the type of song where you can’t fit all of it into one song — you can’t put all of the emotions into one song. It was the hardest song to write because it was the most vulnerable for me, and you can’t sum up that experience in three or four minutes.”

Demi added, “But it was the easiest song at the same time because it’s something that I wanted to say. Like I said in the first line [of the song], ‘This is a story that I’ve never told/I gotta get this off my chest to let it go.’ I wanted to let it go.”

Demi Lovato on Jimmy Fallon: Demi Explains 'Warrior' Tattoo, Talks 'X Factor'

Watch Demi Lovato on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where she explains her new "warrior" tattoo's meaning, plus dishes on the new X Factor judges.

It looks like the X Factor judges seats need to be announced soon because Demi says auditions start next week!

She joked, "We'll probably literally find out the day of," saying she has a "little idea," but it's not confirmed yet.

Jimmy and Demi talked about her new album, which she was yelling about out the car window in New York City. Too funny.

Demi also talked about the new tattoo she got, "Now I'm a warrior," which she explained the meaning of: "Well, I have a song on my album called "Warrior" and it's a very, very meaningful song to me...but it's an inspirational song as well."

She added, "It's a negative thing turned positive. I've been through a lot and I'm really, really honest on this album. This is a song that was really difficult for me to write, record and now release."

The tattoo, she says "is kind of like a tribute to releasing an album as well as overcoming some really, really difficult things in my life."

Demi Lovato New Tattoo: "Now I'm a Warrior" Pic

Demi Lovato got a new tattoo--and it's fitting ink, including the title of one of her new songs from Demi and summing up her life experiences.

New York City tattoo artist Bang Bang posted the Instagram pic of Demi with the ink on her shoulder that reads "now I'm a Warrior."

Bang Bang included the photo caption: "Tattoo last night on the wonderful @ddlovato she came with a group from glee and they were all a blast!"

Hmmm...now we're wondering who from Glee went with Demi--and if they got a new tattoo too?

In a recent interview with Hollywire.com, Demi shared which of her ink is her favorite, saying, "My favorite tattoo is my feet tattoos."

The "Let go" and "Let God" ink she says are "kind of my favorite life mottos. Sometimes life can get so hard that you don't really know what to do and you just gotta be like, 'Okay,' to the man upstairs, 'Take it from here cause I don't know what I'm doing.'"
