Harry Styles and Johnny Depp Bromance? Why Harry Reportedly Is Getting Advice From Johnny

So, Harry Styles and Johnny Depp are besties now. Well, Harry reportedly is calling on Johnny for advice these days, which is better than any of the rest of us are doing. Imagine that hangout...and now picture yourself in the middle of a Harry and Johnny sandwich...

We'll let you simmer on that for a few minutes, but let's get to the dirt on how this epic hottie bromance came to be. Johnny and the One Direction guys met last year at his Hollywood home, so they've already been acquainted, plus the actor lives near Harry's home in Hampstead. Neighbors!

Harry reportedly texted Johnny last week since he's in L.A. and wanted to meet up. A source tells the Daily Star, "Harry and Johnny have become good mates lately. Johnny has been on call to give Harry advice and, if he can, help him cope with the pressures of being a superstar."

Go straight to the top for that advice, Hazza. Smart move.

The insider said "they really hit it off" when they became neighbors, noting, "Harry is in total awe of Johnny and looks on him as his ultimate hero, while Johnny sees Harry as a younger version of himself. Each of them has had to deal with being one of the most famous people in the world and have a lot more in common than you might expect."

Color us jealous.

Harry Styles on Sexiest Men List: Find Out Where He Ranks

Harry Styles has landed himself on Glamour magazine's 100 Sexiest Men list--but he didn't claim the number one spot.

He's not even in the top five!

Before you cry that Harry was robbed, check out the top five and rest assured--he did rank sixth, so that's not too shabby.

Harry did beat out some tough competition, however, including Justin Bieber (10), Chris Hemsworth (7), Ian Somerhalder (12) and Johnny Depp (14).

The top 20:

1. Henry Cavill
2. Robert Pattinson
3. Liam Hemsworth
4. Tom Hiddleston
5. Benedict Cumberbatch
6. Harry Styles
7. Chris Hemsworth
8. Idris Elba
9. Jamie Campbell Bower

Harry Styles admits stealing soap from Johnny Depp's bathroom when given a tour of Hollywood mansion

Just when we thought Harry Styles had gone all Hollywood on us, this happens.

The teen idol may have famous mates, millions in the bank and a legion of fans following his every move - but deep down he is still that teenager from Holmes Chapel who worked at the bakers.

Floppy haired Harry has revealed he swiped a bar of soap from Hollywood heavyweight and Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp's bathroom.

The 19-year-old One Direction singer was invited with his band mates to Johnny's home in LA after his children missed their concert.

And Harry was so star-struck he decided to steal a memento from the mansion.

"I stole soap from his bathroom," Harry admitted to US Weekly. "My friend told me, 'You have to take something.' So I apologise to Johnny now."

Harry, we are going to need much more detail than that. What soap does Johnny use? How does it smell? Is it in the shape of a pirate ship?

But instead of blathering on about the soap, the blue eyed singer swiftly changes the subject to something a lot more hairy.

"It's a constant evolution," he says of his signature hairstyle. "Just don't expect a buzz cut. "I don't look good in a swim cap."

As for his next tattoo, stay tuned: "I get them as each idea strikes me."

Unexpected 1D Fans: Johnny Depp, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Rod Stewart

One Direction has over 19 million "directioners" on facebook and 13 million on twitter. Sure, a lot of those fans are teens, but some can actually drive themselves to a 1D concert. Their big-name celebrity fans include Rod Stewart, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Barbara Walters and Johnny Depp!

Johnny once invited 1D over to his house! His 14-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose Melody Depp, is a big fan of the boy band and wanted to see them perform on the Ellen show, so dad-of-the-year Johnny "hooked it up." He even had the boys over to his house to hang out with his daughter after their performance, giving her the ultimate 1D fan experience.

Rod Stewart has also had a member of 1D over to his house for dinner. While dating rumors were circling around Harry Styles and Rod's daughter Kimberly Stewart, Rod had nothing but wonderful things to say about the band member during an interview on Alan Carr's Chatty Man show.

"He's lovely. He couldn't be kinder, a funny guy," said Rod about Harry. "He's brilliant."

For some reason, Harry seems to be the older-fan favorite. Rihanna is also a Harry fan!

"I watch their videos and I remember thinking, 'Wow, [Harry] is a star." He seems very sure,'" said Rihanna. "It seems, like, it's so natural to him."

Barbara Walters also seems to be a 1D fan. She chose them for one (not five) of her 10 Most Fascinating People last year. After interviewing them, she said Harry was also her favorite and called him "the sexier one."

At least Katy Perry is spreading the 1D love. She revealed she's also a fan and has a favorite (who's not Harry)! She actually shared a friendly kiss with Niall Horan at an award show!

"I'm thrilled for the success they're enjoying and love hanging out with them," said Katy. "Niall is just lovely."

One Directions' new movie This Is Us hits theaters August 30.

TOP PICK: Box Office Report: 'Despicable Me 2' Leaves 'Lone Ranger' in the Dust

JULY 4th UPDATE: Universal's 3D animated event pic is eyeing a five-day debut in the $130 million range; Disney's big-budget Western could have trouble reaching $50 million in a major financial blow for the studio.

Universal's Despicable Me 2 is already proving the box office hit everyone thought it would be, while Disney's The Lone Ranger is off to a troubled start at the long July 4th holiday box office.

Despicable 2 opened to a mammoth $34.3 million on Wednesday from 3,956 theaters -- including $4.7 million in Tuesday night runs -- putting the 3D animated sequel on course for a five-day debut in the $125 million to $130 million range, marking another major win for Universal's animation efforts (some think it could do more). The family pic, breaking several records, earned a coveted A CinemaScore from audiences, further boosting its standing.

Despicable 2's early international total is already $69.5 million, pushing it past the $100 million mark worldwide with a total of $100.2 million.
Conversely, Lone Ranger -- headlined by Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer -- may have trouble reaching $50 million after grossing a dismal $9.7 million from 3,904 locations on Wednesday, including $2 million in Tuesday night runs. That's an especially troubling number considering the film's price tag, and means Lone Ranger will have to do huge business internationally, as well has have strong legs domestically, just to break even.

Despicable Me 2 cost a modest $76 million to produce, while Lone Ranger cost at least $250 million. Director Gore Verbinski and Depp reunited with their Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer to bring Lone Ranger to the big screen.

The third new entry of the July 4th holiday frame is Summit Entertainment's stand-up comedy film Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain, which grossed a stellar $4.8 million on Wednesday from onnly 876 theaters. Summit is hoping to provide counter-programming for African-American audiences as well as comedy fans. The film, from Codeblack Films and HartBeat Productions, was shot live at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Let Me Explain's opening day location average of $5,422 was the second best of the day after Despicable 2's.

With Lone Ranger, Disney is hoping to whip up the same magic that Bruckheimer, Verbinski and Depp created with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. In this latest film, Depp applies his penchant for playing quirky characters to the role of Tonto (Depp says he is part Native American), while Hammer plays the Lone Ranger.

Hollywood will be be paying close attention to Lone Ranger's performance (at one point, it was almost scrapped entirely because of the budget). This past weekend, Sony's big-budget action tentpole White House Down, which cost $150 million to produce, flopped in its North America debut, grossing just $24.9 million.

Despicable 2 is something of a sure bet, considering it's a sequel to a family hit. The toon opens three years after the first film took the box office by storm. The films are the brainchild of Chris Meledandri's Illumination Entertainment, the animation venture backed by Universal.

In the toon, Steve Carell returns to voice the role of Gru, master of the minions, while Kristen Wiig voices the role of Agent Lucy Wilde.

Despicable 2 scored the eighth-best Wednesday opening of all time, as well as the biggest Wednesday opening for Universal. It also nabbed the third best opening day for an animated film, including Friday.

Johnny Depp on Meeting One Direction: Why They Came to His House

During last night's Jimmy Kimmel interview, Johnny Depp talked about meeting One Direction--and let's just say it wasn't that memorable for him.

That's because the meeting was really for his daughter, Lily-Rose, who is a 1D fan.

When Jimmy asked how the meet-up came to be, Johnny explained (after a lengthy pause), "I don't recall that at all."

So cute.

He said, "No, that's not true," explaining that his daughter is "a great fan of One Direction" and she wanted to see them on the Ellen show, and he "hooked it up."

Johnny added, "I arranged for her to go and see them on the show and then they wanted to come back and say hi."

To his house. Yep, that happened.

Johnny noted that Jimmy seemed "somewhat jealous" about the 1D meetup, adding, "you seem freaked out."

Jimmy added, "I would be lucky if I could get the guys from 98 Degrees to come to my house."

Johnny had no clue who that vintage boy band is!

Johnny Depp's Daughter: No Longer a Justin Bieber Fan?

Is Justin Bieber losing fans?

He's lost Johnny Depp's daughter as a Belieber anyway.

As Justin's fans grow up, some of his fanbase has moved on to other music, while a lot have grown along with Bieber.

In a new interview with E! News, Johnny talked about his daughter's changing musical tastes.

When asked about Justin, he explained, "She [Lily-Rose] thinks that Bieber is obviously talented and stuff...she's now moving into other arenas of music in her life."

He added, "The sounds are changing now."

Also? He said, "She prefer I didn't go to concerts with her, especially don't take her to concerts."

Aw.

Given Lily-Rose's meeting with the One Direction guys last year, we'd say she may have moved from Belieber to Directioner.

A couple of years ago, he told David Letterman about getting Lily-Rose a meet-and-greet with Bieber at his concert, explaining, "We brought her to the show and introduced them and it was quite astonishing to see your child in this kind of like frozen [state]."

One Direction's Zayn regrets snubbing idol Johnny Depp after being scared he might "embarrass" himself

If he’s going to get nervous and chicken out of meeting Johnny Depp for a cup of tea, then he’s got no chance of manning up for a showdown with Max George.

One Direction’s Zayn Malik decided he didn’t fancy hanging out with the Hollywood actor in fear that he would “embarrass” himself.

His bandmates Harry, Niall, Louis and Liam weren’t going to miss the opportunity to spend time with the Pirates of the Caribbean star – they even sang a few songs for the his daughter, Lily-Rose (as if she wasn’t already the coolest kid in school).

Obviously properly regretting his decision to sack it off for a Skype call with Perrie, Zayn explained: “I was too nervous to go.

“I am a massive, massive fan and I didn’t want to embarrass myself so I let the boys go without me. Hopefully, there will be a next time. The boys said he was totally cool.

“I kind of regret it for sure and the lads said I was a scaredy cat.”

He didn’t quite compare himself to Johnny Depp – but did reason with the excitement and emotions fans of One Direction experience when they meet their idols.

He said: “Some of our fans get so excited or nervous when they meet us and that’s how I was at the thought of being with Johnny.

“But instead of lapping it up and enjoying it, I ran the other way.”

While he’s being a bit of a wet flannel about meeting his idols, Zayn has been dishing out a bit of fighting talk on Twitter to rival boyband The Wanted.

After exchanging a few bitchy comments with Max, the pair agreed to meet up and settle their differences when they are scheduled to perform at the same concert in New York.

We’re not sure what’s going to happen (obviously, we’re not Derren Brown) but The Wanted told us they want a boxing match with One Direction – then go for a pint after. But Max doesn’t reckon a fight would last very long…

Just please no touching of the hair guys. Seriously.

TOP PICK: Johnny Depp: Shirtless on 'Lone Ranger' Set!

Johnny Depp goes shirtless as he shoots some scenes dressed in costume as Tonto for his upcoming film The Lone Ranger on Wednesday (September 19) in Arcadia, Calif.

The 49-year-old actor recently spoke at TIFF about what drew him to the documentary West of Memphis to MTV News.

“I believe it was Henry Rollins, also a longtime supporter and friend of Damien‘s [Echols], who said it, and it’s absolutely true: it could have been any of us,” Johnny said. “Because, what, you look different? [The authorities] put their eyeball on Damien and didn’t take it off, even though everything around them — they didn’t look at the insane amount of holes in the case. They just looked at the guy with the black T-shirt and the long black hair. It was a witch hunt.”

The documentary centers on the infamous case of the West Memphis Three.

Johnny Depp: 'West of Memphis' Premiere at TIFF!

Johnny Depp attends the premiere of West of Memphis during the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday (September 8) at the Ryerson Theatre in Toronto, Canada.

The 49-year-old actor was joined by Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines and the film’s producers at the event. They also attended a photo call to promote the film earlier in the day.

West of Memphis is an examination of a failure of justice in the case against the West Memphis Three, that focuses partially on how celebs like Johnny and Natalie brought attention to the case.
