'RAMONA & BEEZUS' STARS TALK NERVES

Selena Gomez and Joey King have been busy promoting their new movie, Ramona & Beezus.

In the family flick, the duo portray sisters Ramona and Beezus Quimby, characters from Beverly Cleary's beloved books. Selena and Joey recently talked to Boston.com about getting nervous, family and more. Check out a few highlights below.

Selena on her downtime: [I like] sitting on the couch, watching movies, eating junk food, just relaxing with friends and family.

Selena on not rushing into adult roles: I'm still just a kid myself. I wouldn't do a role I don't feel comfortable doing or that my audience wouldn't feel comfortable seeing.

Joey on her similarities to "Ramona": I have a big imagination like Ramona, and the same personality like Ramona as well. And I have sisters, just like Ramona, and I have pets!

Joey on getting nervous: I get nervous all the time. I'm kind of nervous about tonight! My mom says having a feeling inside of you is better than no feeling. I get over it, I say 'Hey! This is what I love to do, and it's fun!' I just need to get over my fears. I kind of like that feeling.

Selena on getting nervous:< When I get really nervous I like to talk about it or ask my mom what to do. Selena's advice for kids dealing with diversity: Everything happens for a reason, and within each problem there's a lesson you can learn." Don't be afraid that people will laugh or make fun of you, follow your passion, and keep your family close. "At the end of the day, family is all you've got. Ramona & Beezus opens in theaters on July 23. Selena & Joey will be hanging out in Madison Square Park in NYC tomorrow from 10am to 6pm. SELENA GOMEZ: THE SISTER STORY OF RAMONA & BEEZUS IS VERY SWEET

Beverly Cleary's beloved books about the mischevious Ramona Quimby are coming to life on the big screen in Ramona & Beezus on July 23.

The movie stars Joey King as Ramona and Selena Gomez as her big sister Beezus. Selena is an only child, but loved the sister dynamic of the movie.

She shared, "Ramona and Beezus are probably as different as different can be. We don't like each other in the beginning, and kind of annoy one another, and then towards the end we realize that we kind of need each other. I think the sister story behind it is very sweet."

Joey added, "[Selena] would be an awesome older sister for me. ... She definitely is like a big sister to me. I look up to her."

Josh Duhamel and John Corbett also star in the movie and opened up about their co-stars. Josh said of his fictional neighbor, "[Ramona's] just this open little spirit that really wants to do the right thing ... and sometimes her imagination gets the best of her and she screws up."

Meanwhile, John had no idea how big Selena Gomez was, "I had no idea she was such a big star; I'd show up and I'd think, 'How sweet, these kids came out to see me? Out of the way old man! Can you get us Selena Gomez' autograph?"

Ramona & Beezus opens on July 23. Are you excited?

Check out a new video of Joey King & Selena Gomez singing with their school teacher on the set of their movie, Ramona & Beezus. How sweet!

Ramona & Beezus is based off the popular books by Beverly Cleary, which I know I loved when I was younger. In the movie, Ramona's (King) vivid imagination, boundless energy, and accident-prone antics keep everyone she meets on their toes. But her irrepressible sense of fun, adventure and mischief come in handy when she puts her mind to helping save her family's home.

The movie is set to open on July 23, 2010. Are you excited?
