“It is with heavy hearts that we confirm that our time as the Jonas Brothers is over,” the letter from Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas begins.

“This decision has not come lightly, and we know that many of you will be disappointed. The time has come for us to move forward on individual career paths. We have been a band of brothers for 10 years and are now choosing simply to be brothers. Going forward, you can expect exciting things from each of us, and we will of course continue to support each other in all things.
To Our Dear Friends and Fans Around the World

It is with heavy hearts that we confirm that our time as the Jonas Brothers is over. This decision has not come lightly, and we know that many of you will be disappointed. The time has come for us to move forward on individual career paths. We have been a band of brothers for 10 years and are now choosing simply to be brothers. Going forward, you can expect exciting things from each of us, and we will of course continue to support each other in all things.

We would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has supported and inspired us through the years, and stood by us in this difficult decision. We feel and appreciate your love. Because you waited so long for new music, we want to honor our Team Jonas fan club members by giving you our final album. This digital-only album contains four new studio recordings that would have appeared on our V album (which will now go unreleased). In addition, we’re including 10 live tracks that we feel capture the energy and excitement of this past summer’s tour. Details regarding delivery of this digital album to Team Jonas members will be issued shortly. We hope you enjoy this album as much as we’ve enjoyed performing for you over the last 10 years. It has been an amazing experience.

Jonas Brothers on Good Morning America: After Breakup, "Looking Forward to the Future"

Watch the Jonas Brothers Good Morning America interview, where they finally answer some questions about their breakup.

Yesterday, Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas officially announced they were splitting after weeks of silence when they canceled their fall tour.

Why did the Jonas Brothers break up?

Ultimately, after a "few days" of conversation about the future of the band, they decided to "be brothers first."

Nick explained, "We're family first and that's always been our main priority and so honesty within what we do as a group was really important."

It was Nick who kicked off the discussion, as he said, "I came to the table with the guys...and shared my heart with them and my feelings."

Nick explained, "I said, 'Look, I feel like we've had some complications within the group for a long time [and] without addressing them I think this train will fall off the tracks.'"

He added, "It was a tough conversation. It was the first time we really had that real conversation."

Joe further explained that they were "butting heads" about a variety of things, including "the way to set up the music video or even just personal opportunities."

He clarified, "At some point we decided it was best to finish this and support each other on our own ventures along the way."

As for the release of their upcoming album, V...well, that's not happening.

Kevin did say that fans will get something out of it as a takeaway for their support: "We're going to release four of the unreleased songs from the album. And we put together the live tracks from the last summer tour--about 10 songs as well--so we'll be giving that to our fans club members, as a gift from us."

Nick noted, "I think we're really in a season right now of being excited about the future but also there's a certain heaviness that comes with closing a chapter."

He added, "I think that we have the best fans in the world and have for our entire career so we thank them for that and thank them for really understanding."

What's next for the guys? Kevin said he's going to work on the "business side of things," explaining,
"I'm in the first round of funding for an entertainment fund that will position brands to target millenials so I'm kind of pouring my passion into that."

Nick and Joe will explore acting opportunities and continue writing music and recording their own music.

Joe summed it up by saying, "This is the first time in a long time we have time to focus on ourselves and support each other through that. We know it's going to be sad for a lot of people but for us we are looking forward to the future."

How about a Jonas Brothers reunion down the road at some point?

Nick said, "I think it's impossible to say forever with anything. I feel like we're playing it one step at a time right now and, like we said, rebuilding as brothers first and starting there."

Why Did Jonas Brothers Cancel Their Tour? Weak Ticket Sales, Fighting Rumors

Why did the Jonas Brothers cancel their tour? We've heard the creative differences excuse, but is there more to it?

Rumors of weak ticket sales and fighting among the JoBros are spreading like wildfire.

So, basically, any time (soon, please?) that Joe, Nick or Kevin want to pop up and set the record straight...that would be appreciated.

With the very sudden cancellation (their tour was to kick off tomorrow), some are believing they scrapped the whole thing because tickets weren't selling.

A source close to the band told E! News, "ticket sales were fine, and this certainly wasn't about tickets."

The source added, "[They] had just come off a very successful summer run in bigger venues that sold very well, and the guys wanted to keep the team together through the fall until another larger run next summer--mostly to support the new music."

So...what happened then?

Another source explained that "100 percent, this is about the music," adding, "They're brothers and that will never change."

The insider added, "This isn't about personal issues. The guys recorded a lot of music and there was broad disagreement within the group about what direction to take the music."

This is madness. Even if they are disagreeing, why let fans down for this 19-city tour? Couldn't they have sorted things out along the way and given the fans what they paid for?

And yes, the Jonas Brothers breakup rumors are also flying, but nothing has been confirmed with that.

Also unconfirmed? The status of their upcoming album, V, which they teased forever would be coming "soon."

Kevin, Nick and Joe are reportedly "unsure" about the release of the album.

Meanwhile, some are trying to piece together possible signs that they were fighting, with a recent interview of Joe's explaining some of the tension.

Joe told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Sunday, "There are days that are tough. You try to relive what what we used to be, but you have to remind yourself that it's a different music. It's a different vibe. We are our own bosses these days and have to build our own relationships and businesses and continue to craft our sound, and not just be a band that plays to a certain market."

He added, "We're wanting to make music that at the end of the day we can sit back and be excited about."

So, are they not excited about their music? Or just bummed that they can't get the glory days back?

Please, guys, give the fans some answers about what's going on.

The video above is the last performance that the Jonas Brothers gave--do you sense any disagreement/unhappiness among them?

Jonas Brothers talk gay rumors, twerking, 'V'

"What does a boy band do when it grows up?" That's the question the Jonas Brothers, Nick, Joe and Kevin, take a stab at answering in an interview with Out magazine, which touched on Miley Cyrus and twerking, those lingering gay rumors, and their new album, V.

It's a question that seemed to weigh heavily on the minds of the Brothers J, interviewed in September for the November issue. The Jonas Brothers, you'll remember, were a particular favorite of the Obama girls, Malia and Sasha, for whom the band performed as a surprise their first night at the White House in January 2009.

V is their fifth studio album, their first as a band in four years and their first since departing the embrace of Disney-backed Hollywood Records. Writer Sam Lansky says they were eager to discuss their artistic intent and their transition to adulthood, during which they also pursued solo careers with varying degrees of success.

Naturally, this being Out and they being a boy band, they talked about those "pesky" gay rumors. But shrugs all around from the brothers.

"We have a lot of gay friends and gay fans," says Joe, 24. "It's a boy band stereotype; people assume, but we don't take offense...."(Being in Out) is a moment for us for sure. We keep saying, 'Well, it's about time.' "

Nick, 21, adds that he used to be a "super theater geek. I loved theater and I still do, and I care about fashion, and I care about a lot of things that I feel like stereotypes are attached to."

The brothers have matured, no question. "You get to this point where you can't live your life trying to satisfy everybody, personally or as a musician," Joe says. "Somebody's going to find something negative. So we were like, let's just be who we are and have opinions — whether it's on politics or music — and really show who we are as people."

Naturally, this being the era of ubiquitous Miley Cyrus, twerking came up. Joe says there are probably better ways for Cyrus to say she's grown up, but at least everyone's talking about her. Nick says he laughed at her "funny" performance, adding that Miley is a very smart cookie.

But maybe there should be a moratorium on twerking (and talking about it), as suggested by Joe's former girlfriend Demi Lovato? Yes, no and maybe, say the brothers.

"Bring it on. I'm a fan," says Joe. "I just think it's appropriate for the right people. Not everyone can twerk."

"I'm against it," says Nick. "I've just reached my limit. It's just done. It's too much."

"I'm straight down the middle," says Kevin, 25. "The right amount at the right time."

The November issue is on newsstands Oct. 22.

Nick Jonas Tweets Jonas Brothers Song Lyrics: "Sandbox" About Miley Cyrus?

Nick Jonas is feeling generous--sharing a pic of his latest tattoo and song lyrics for some of the Jonas Brothers' new songs.

Nick tweeted the words to five songs, in honor of the Jonas Brothers' album named "V."

One tune, called "What Do I Mean to You," is believed to have been written about British singer Rita Ora.

Check out the lyrics: "Keys to an open door don't mean a lot. Stains on a dirty floor, you don't see a spot. So what do I mean tell me what do I mean to you."

He continued, "No need for water _______ when you got the wine. Searching for diamonds when I gave you the mine. So what do I mean to you."

During the JoBros' live performance of "What Do I Mean to You," Nick has been heard saying Rita's name.

Nick also tweeted words from "Found," writing: "Wow. Look at us right now. Finally we're found. Run go ahead run around, and see how quick your found. Tell me you want me to love you. Tell me and I'll never stop. I'll be around year your never lost."

He shared "Neon" lyrics as well, tweeting: "I've been looking for the reason what's the answer or the meaning of it all...Hoping that your gonna show me just surround me till I'm glowing in the dark."

He tweeted the lyrics from "The World," which the bros have named as one of their favorites off the new album, writing: "Don't think about the world. Stop blaming yourself I know you do. Don't think about the world just me and you."

Nick rounded out the five song lyric share session with one that they haven't yet played live, "Sandbox," tweeting: "The line keeps disappearing in front of me. Till I don't know where and when it's been crossed. Boast your freedom then demand an apology. Remember in the moment we both got lost."

Is "Sandbox" about Miley Cyrus? Let the rumors begin in three...two...one...

Jonas Brothers still appeal to hardcore admirers: Concert review

Old loves die hard.

In their heyday four or five years ago, New Jersey’s Jonas Brothers were so popular that they probably could have filled two or three Molson Amphitheatres with the carefully Disney-cultivated audience of youngsters who were targeting the trio as their first crushes.

But, as history has proven time and again, these types of interim infatuations usually hit walls after a brief but intense period of time, and Joe, Kevin and Nick Jonas were no exception: they were done like dinner even before 2009’s Lines, Vines and Trying Times hit iTunes’ digital shelves, moving from “hot” to “not” in a matter of months.

The reasons for the Jonas burnout could be attributed to everything from oversaturation to fickle public tastes to girls moving on to the anti-Jonas, Justin Bieber, but if recent sellout concerts by a revived New Kids On The Block and, a few years back, a rejuvenated Backstreet Boys, have taught us anything, is that girls often hold soft spots for their musical pin-up poster boys.

The Jonas Brothers performed a well-paced show on Thursday night.zoom

So maybe there were a lot of seats lacking posteriors to fill them at the Amphitheatre on Thursday night, but the 7,000 or 8,000 that were there still fanned the flames of Jonas affection with enviable loyalty, singing every word of every song as if their lives depended on it.

These core admirers were rewarded by a grown up Jonas performance that was paced pretty well: backed by a seven-piece band, two of the trio – Joe and Kevin—made their grand entrances through the audience before embarking on a no-nonsense, 80-minute set.

A side note – it was Kevin, surrounded by security, with a guitar wrapped around him that came within mere centimetres of this writer in the 300 section as he made his way down the stairs. In earlier years, it would have meant a serious trampling. On this night, however, it meant nearly being bowled over by a couple of 12-year-olds beside me who squealed in delight at the prospect of being in such close proximity to a Jonas that they forgot to man their cell phone cameras.

Commencing with “First Time,” a new single from their forthcoming album V, and moving seamlessly through Lines’ “Paranoid” and another newbie in “Pom Poms,” the Jonas three were consistently drowned out by their paying makeshift choir.

And that’s how they rolled for the night – occasionally switching instruments (Nick Jonas ventured from guitar to piano to drums; Joe to piano; Kevin stuck with guitar) and previewed a lot of material from V.

Even the faithful who liked Nick’s solo project The Administration chimed in, carrying pieces of paper marked “Who I Am” with their written identity in the back, and thrusting it up proudly as the song of the same name was paraded before them with an accompanying video that had filmed characters holding up their own declarations.

It was serious stuff to these JoBros fans, God bless ‘em, who ogled and applauded their surprisingly charisma-free charges relentlessly.

So the rebuilding and rebranding of the Jonas Dynasty is upon us.

Because the trio plays their own instruments and write some of their own material, they could be one of those artists who, like Justin Timberlake, successfully transitions from teen pop idol to adult music star.

They already have their dedicated disciples, a small armada whom were at the Molson Amphitheatre.

You’ve been warned.
