Selena Gomez on why she cried onstage while singing song allegedly about Justin Bieber

It was just one of those days for Selena Gomez.

The 21-year-old pop star took the stage Wednesday at Brooklyn's Barclays Center and got extra emotional while singing "Love Will Remember," the heartfelt ballad off her latest album, "Stars Dance," that is allegedly about ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

Gomez was noticeably teary-eyed throughout the entire song, but the starlet had a particularly hard time getting out the lyrics, "We used to be inseparable, I used to think that I was irreplaceable."

At the song's end, Gomez gushed to her fans how grateful she was for their support.

"After everything I go through on a daily basis, you guys never fail to make me smile so thank you so much," she said.

The brunette beauty also expressed how she can relate to everyone in the audience.

"Just like everyone else in this room, I have days where it just sucks," she told the crowd.

Later Wednesday night, Gomez took to Instagram to explain why she burst into tears at the end of the show.

"Never ended such a beautiful show in tears because they wouldn't allow me to Instagram tonight. Completely heartbroken and pi---d. Thank you SO much Brooklyn. Ill be stopping outside Letterman tomorrow to make it up if you can make it. I love you guys more than you know. Promise," she wrote.

Despite her explanation, according to fans on social media, Gomez also cried on stage Tuesday in Buffalo, N.Y., during the same song.

Before the July release of her new record, she told InStyle magazine how much that particular track meant to her.

"Obviously, 'Love Will Remember' is a personal song to me and I don't really need to say anything," she told the mag.

"I think my fans will get it. I think people will figure it out themselves ... I'm sure he'll like it too."

Selena Gomez Cries While Singing the Song She Allegedly Wrote About Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez really showed her emotions at her recent show in New York City!

Not only did she perform her little heart off but she also broke down in tears when singing her song "Love Will Remember" that's allegedly about her ex, Justin Bieber.

This is not the first time Selena has cried on stage before. It reportedly happened during the same song at her show a few nights ago too.

Of course, all of this crying has our Jelena radar going off. There were reports that she was talking to Justin again after he recently released his song "Heartbreaker" about her. She also seemed lonely when she talked about being single on Twitter earlier this week.

Selena was quick to go to Instagram after her breakdown and said she cried because she wasn't allowed to Instagram...

"Never ended such a beautiful show in tears because they wouldn't allow me to Instagram tonight. Completely heart broken and pissed. Thank you SO much Brooklyn. Ill be stoping [sic] outside Letterman tomorrow to make it up if you can make it. I love you guys more than you know. Promise...," she wrote along with a picture of herself holding up a Brooklyn tee.

Was her on-stage emotion because she's really missing the Biebs, she wasn't allowed to Instagram... or was her concert boo-hoo fest staged for attention?

Watch her emotional performance of "Love Will Remember" above and let us know what you think!

This isn't the only reason Sel should be crying. She and her band suffered a technical malfunction while on The View this morning.

Selena Gomez's New Song "Love Will Remember" Leaks, Features Voicemail From Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez is opening up about her relationship with Justin Bieber—through her music.

The adorable pop star's new album Stars Dance is set to debut in just two weeks, but a new track from the highly anticipated record has leaked, and the Bieber breakup ballad, titled "Love Will Remember," features a voicemail from the former Disney darling's on-again, off-again beau, E! News has exclusively confirmed.

The song—which the singer has previously confessed is indeed about her ex—begins with a recording of a voicemail from Bieber confessing his love to his former gal.

"Hey babe, it's me," the recording begins. "I just want to call and tell you that I love you so, so, so, so much. I just wanted to let you know that you are my princess. You are worthy of all the love in the world. You are the love of my life."

Cue Selena's sentimental vocals as she sings about a love lost and a special romance she will always remember (talk about taking a hint from bestie Taylor Swift !).

A source close to Bieber exclusively tells E! News that it is, in fact, the popster on the track. The private voicemail was left on Gomez's phone earlier this year just prior to their breakup.

When contacted by E! News, a rep for Rock Mafia, the producer of "Love Will Remember," said: "We won't confirm it's Justin. We are very disappointed the song was leaked."

The brunette beauty has previously opened up about the heartfelt tune, telling InStyle mag, "That's the most personal track on the record, for sure. I think it's a sweet way of releasing it. It's not an aggressive approach to what people are probably expecting. I'm sure he'll [Justin] love it too."

While the track certainly suggests the former lovebirds are officially over, Justin and Selena continue to keep us guessing when it comes to their ever-changing relationship status.

On the Fourth of July, the Biebs posted an Instagram photo with his former love, captioning the pic "#heartbreaker" and subsequently reigniting the Jelena romance rumor mill.

However, a source tells E! News the pair is not rekindling their rocky relationship (despite attending the same Independence Day celebration) and are simply "trying to maintain a friendship."

Bieber and Gomez split back in November due to "crazy schedules", but the young stars have gotten back together a number of times since their initial breakup.

In the same InStyle interview where Gomez revealed the meaning behind "Love Will Remember," the 20-year-old actress also opened up about the difficulties of maintaining a relationship in the public eye (Bieber and Gomez were broken up at the time):

"It's uncomfortable that everywhere I go, people know," she said of her relationship status. "I don't like that. But Justin and I never really focused on the attention. You can't help who you date. So I wouldn't swear off that or say that's what I want again. I don't know. I'm a kid, and a breakup is normal. I have to go through the emotions and feel it out. I'm doing my own thing, being with my friends, and he's doing very well, too."

And it also seems they're doing well together.

Listen to "Love Will Remember" above! Do you think it's about her relationship with the Biebs?

"Love Will Remember" Lyrics

You said you loved me,
I said I loved you back,
What happened to that?
What happened to that?

All your promises,
And all the plans we had,
What happened to that?
What happened to that?

Boom gone, yeah we move on
Even if we try to forget

[chorus]
Love will remember you,
Love will remember me,
I know it inside my heart,
Forever will, forever be ours,
Even if we try to forget,
Love will remember 5x

[verse 2]
The trips we dream of takin',
The tags left on the map,
What happened to that?
What happened to that?

When all you had was nothing,
When all we did was laugh,
What happened? what happened?
What happened to that?

Boom gone, yeah we move on
Even if we try to forget

[chorus]
Love will remember 5x

[bridge]
Break down the worlds,
Let heaven in,
Somewhere in forever
We'll dance again,
We used to be inseparable,
I used to think I was irreplaceable,
We let the hole out,
Before we blew it up,
I just dont know how we screwed it up
Forever 3x

[chorus]
Love will remember 4x
