Taylor Swift Makes Grads Feel "22"

My daughter graduated from high school over the weekend. The whole thing was very bittersweet, for me and for her. And at every party we went to, in every car ride we took and basically every other second of the weekend, Taylor Swift's "22" was playing. It was like the one-track soundtrack for the weekend and the next chapter of all these teenagers' lives.

It seemed like every graduate knew every word and loved every minute of the song. I get that. These kids are all about feeling 22, even though they aren't quite there, yet. They're happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time.

But here's the good part: Just as Swift captured that exhilarating joy of independence upon leaving high school, she'd also captured the trepidation of just going to high school. For my daughter (and the entire class of 2013), Swift's "Fifteen" was released the very week she was taking a deep breath and walking through the doors on the morning of her very first day.

So now, I'm just crossing my fingers that Swift can do the same for the next phase. Can she write a song called "29" and put into song all the emotions that kick in once college is over and careers are established and knots are tied and mothers are born?

Conan O'Brien Calls Out Taylor Swift's Unrealistic "22" Video

Conan O'Brien cracks us up as he calls out Taylor Swift's recent music video.

T-Swift's video for her new single "22" portrays her and her friends' lives as average 22-year-old girls, and the talk show host protests that it's a very unrealistic portrayal of real life.

In his own personal YouTube video, Conan calls out her fancy apartment in the vid, claiming most 22-year-olds live in really cheap apartments. He also points out that there aren't any Ramen Noodles on the counters!

We have to agree, but hey, the girl IS loaded, so she's portraying HER life at 22, right?!

See what else Conan had to say about Taylor's music video (and his own "miserable" life at 22) by watching his response above!

Taylor Swift Debuts Malibu-Shot '22' Music Video

Taylor Swift's "Red" tour starts tonight in Omaha, NB and since it's March 13 (13 is Swift's favorite number) she decided it was time to share "Red"'s fourth music video.

This time, Taylor brushes aside the guy-related drama and invites a gang of her best real life girl friends for some good ol' times. Shot in Malibu, activities include a cake baking kitchen party, sunset lounging on the beach, and a clothes-on dive into the pool.

And of course, there's a few jabs at those annoying cool kid hipsters.

"22" currently sits at No. 44 on the Hot 100.

Taylor Swift's Carefree '22' Video Coming Wednesday

Swifties won't have to wait much longer to get an inside glimpse at what life was like for Taylor Swift at 22. The singer will release her video for "22" this Wednesday.

Fans will get an early glimpse at the Anthony Mandler-directed clip when a 30-second teaser airs on "Good Morning America" before the full video hits the show's website at 8:30 a.m. ET. The premiere date, March 13, is worth noting too. Swift has always shared how 13 is her lucky number, and this is no coincidence. On Monday (March 11), the singer confirmed it and reminded Swifties that her Red Tour also kicks off that day.

Swift, now 23, enlisted her real-life pals for the visual. Taylor, wearing a knit cap, was photographed not long ago on set with her BFFs getting wild and carousing in Malibu, eating ice cream and being pushed around in a shopping cart.

Shortly after the shoot, she tweeted, "Leaving LA now after the best day with my friends. Almost forgot it was a video shoot. Can't wait for you guys to see it."

This isn't her first collaboration with Mandler. He captured a darker side of the fair-haired singer in her "I Knew You Were Trouble" video, which dropped late last year.

"I think that the Rihannas, the Beyoncés, the Jay-Zs, they're always willing to tear things down and re-create themselves," Mandler told MTV News about working with her on that other clip back in December.

"[And what] I'm hoping is that this is the first moment in a new chapter for Taylor, that this is a left turn on her path that will lead to new and different things ... it will give her the confidence and power to do different things, to be able to broaden and take her fanbase on a journey that's unexpected. And that is, to me, what prolongs people's careers."

Taylor Swift Shoots Music Video for "22" on the Beach With Her BFFs!

Taylor Swift knows a lot about being 22 years old and is proving that with her new music video!

Tay hit the beach and even hopped in a shopping cart for the video for her upcoming single "22" off of Red.

She later went to Twitter to say she had a blast shooting the vid!

"Leaving LA now after the best day with my friends. Almost forgot it was a video shoot. Can't wait for you guys to see it," she posted.

After she tweeted that, we thought perhaps Selena Gomez and Dianna Agron would make a cameo in the video. But according to Perez Hilton, Selena was no where in site at the production.

As for the meaning of "22?" Well, Taylor recently told Ryan Seacrest it's all about life and BFFs. There's also rumors she wrote it for Selena!

"I wrote that about my friends, like finally I've got this amazing group of girlfriends and we tell each other everything, we're together all the time...And I think that was kind of the marker of me being 22, like having all these friends and there's all these question marks in your life, but the one thing that you have is that you have each other," she said.

Are you excited to see Taylor's new video?

Taylor Swift has unveiled the official artwork for her new single '22'.

The US singer-songwriter will release the track next month as the third official UK single from her recent album 'Red', while it will be her fourth release from the record in America after 'Begin Again'.

'22' was co-written by the 'Love Story' singer and Swedish producers Max Martin and Shellback, and is set to be officially released on 1st April.

This week Taylor posted on Twitter to thank fans in the UK for helping her album 'Red' get certified platinum only a handful of months after its release.

"So I'm just minding my own business, making a sandwich before rehearsals, and I get a call that 'Red' is platinum in the UK," the 23 year-old star tweeted. "I LOVE you guys."
