Ed Sheeran has addressed the rumours that he is dating country starlet Taylor Swift, insisting they are "very good friends."
The 'Give Me Love' singer is said to have "grown closer" to Taylor over the last few months while recording 'Everything Has Changed' which features on her new album Red. Ed only fuelled rumours when he tattooed the name of Taylor's album on his arm, but the singer tells Entertainmentwise that he and Taylor are just friends and the tattoo signals an important stage in his career.
"If you see pictures of my arm it's got loads of random s**t and everytime something big happens to me I get ink on my skin," Ed told us.
"I think having the first US number one with Taylor and then going on tour with her is a big part of my life."
Speaking about his time working in the studio with the 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' star, Ed added: "The Taylor song was tailored for her. It blended really well and she's a really nice person as well. So yeah, we worked well together."
When asked if the pair have plans to collaborate again, Ed replied: "Yeah 100%. I'm gonna be on tour with her for six months so hopefully we'll get some songs done then."
Ed confirmed earlier this month that he will be joining Taylor on the US leg of her 'Red' tour in 2013, which will see them travel together for six months.
"I'm very excited, I get a lot of time off between dates so I get to put my album together bit by bit which is going to be good," Ed said. Despite their close bond, Ed sets the record straight on the dating rumours and insists they aren't a couple.
"We are very good friends and that's kind of it," he told us.
