Demi Lovato Celebrates #3YearsUnbroken, Lands on Power List as 'The Cool Chick'

Demi Lovato has secured a spot on Seventeen magazine's power list--number two behind pal Selena Gomez, who graces the March power issue.

Demi is classified as "The Cool Chick" among the celebs 21 and under...and we couldn't agree more!

Seventeen notes that it's "her support of girls suffering from self-harm and addiction that puts Demi so high on the list."

Inside the issue, Demi answered the question "When do you feel badass?"

Her response is about more than just thinking about herself, as she shared, "When I'm being influential to people who really need some guidance. I could keep my self-harm and addiction issues private, or I could use them to help other people. I chose the latter, and it's been the best decision of my life."

Over the weekend, she took to Twitter to talk about balance, which will be a challenge, given her busy tour ahead, tweeting: "It's a great feeling knowing how to balance things in life. Feeling stronger and better than ever..."

Today, Demi was in great spirits, as she celebrates Lovatic Day and #3YearsUnbroken!

She tweeted: "Life is SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYY!!!!!," adding, "I CAN'T WAIT FOR TOUR!!!!!!!!!"

As always, she thanked her fans for all of their support and love, tweeting: "Happy Lovatic Day.... I'm alive because of you all. Thank you.... I love you all so much.. #3YearsUnbroken"

Demi added: "You CAN turn your life around. You can go through hell AND BACK. It IS possible. NEVER underestimate yourself. I BELIEVE IN YOU.."

She. Is. The. Best.

LISTEN TO ORIGINAL RECORDINGS OF DEMI LOVATO’S ‘SHUT UP AND LOVE ME’ + ‘FOR THE LOVE OF A DAUGHTER’

Fans of Demi Lovato have two new recordings to enjoy from the ‘X Factor‘ judge. ‘Shut Up and Love Me,’ is an unreleased fan favorite, while ‘For the Love of a Daughter’ is a three-year-old demo of a song that ended up making its way onto Lovato’s 2011 album ‘Unbroken.’

Lovato wrote ‘For the Love of a Daughter’ with William Beckett of The Academy Is… for her 2009 release ‘Here We Go Again,’ but her label and management reportedly thought the subject matter was too heavy for Lovato’s pre-teen audience at the time.

The track tackles the relationship between a girl and her estranged father, with Lovato singing, “Oh, father, please, father / I’d love to leave you alone / But I can’t let you go / Oh, father, please, father / Put the bottle down / For the love of a daughter.”

As for ‘Shut Up and Love Me,’ a pleasant mid-tempo love song, Lovato told MTV, “We’re trying to find the right place on an album where it fits. The last two albums it hasn’t really fit, so maybe this next one it’ll be released.”

Demi Lovato 'Unbroken' tour feels like pep rally in Phoenix

The atmosphere at Comerica Theatre on Friday, July 13, felt a lot like a high-school pep rally. The audience -- mostly tween girls, a few boys and their parents/chaperones -- spent the time before pop singer Demi Lovato took the stage chanting her name and performing the wave. It's a level of enthusiasm you rarely see at most concerts, but given the age of the crowd, it seemed fitting.

Given the fact that Demi Lovato got her start as the star of the Disney film "Camp Rock" and then starred in her Disney show "Sonny with a Chance," the demographics of the audience make sense. Disney is known for producing sure things when it comes to singers and musicians who can connect with tween audience such as Miley Cirus and the Jonas Brothers, and Lovato is no different.

Lovato took to the stage, not surprisingly, to a chorus of screams from the audience, which only got louder when the singer launched into her first song of the night, "All Night Long." For the most part, Lovato focused on songs from her album "Unbroken" but included a few tracks from previous records within the set.

Songs like "Got Dynamite" and "Hold Up" set the tone for the early part of her set -- energetic, fast-paced pop songs that were crowd pleasers and got the audience on their feet and singing along.

Lovato slowed things down a bit with the song "Catch Me," which she performed mostly acoustic for the first part of the song. The song helped display that Lovato's range not only as a singer but as a musician as well.

The singer keep things mellow for a bit with the songs "Fix A Heart," "My Love Is Like A Star," and a cover of Lil Wayne's "How to Love."

A piano was rolled on stage for the song "Skyscraper" but Lovato addressed the audience before playing. "I think a lot of people know I've had a rough couple of years," she said. She was, of course, referring to her time spent in a rehab facility for an eating disorder and self-harming. To her credit, though, Lovato has made a strong comeback from her difficulties and has turned the song "Skyscraper" into her signature song.

Before things could become too much of a bummer, Lovato picked the pace with some lighter songs like a cover of Chris Brown's "Turn Up the Music" and the song "Together." Lovato closed out her set with a two-song encore featuring the songs "Unbroken" and "Give Your Heart A Break."

Opening up the show were Nashville pop-rockers Hot Chelle Rae, who fit in nicely with Lovato and received a good reaction from the crowd.

They played some of their bigger hits during a 40-minute set, including "Beautiful Freaks." The song that the crowd was most excited to hear, however, was their biggest hit so far, "Tonight Tonight." They spiced things up a bit during the performance of that song by including the theme song from "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air." The audience even sang along and seemed to know all the words, a fact that is surprising considering that most in the audience weren't even born yet when the show was on.

Listen: Demi Lovato 'Aftershock' and 'Yes I Am' Bonus Tracks!

Listen to Demi Lovato's new bonus tracks that were recently leaked online - 'Aftershock' and 'Yes I Am.'

The two bonus songs appear on the Japanese deluxe version of her 'Unbroken' album.

Why hasn't Demi shared these with her U.S. fans yet?

'Aftershock' is an amazingly cool track with a fun pop vibe and equally cool lyrics, such as the chorus:

"Lovestruck
My heart is overheating and it won't stop
I try to slow the beating, but you're so hot
The tremors keep repeating and I tell myself keep breathing
But I'm caught in your aftershock
Hit me like an earthquake
Feel my heaven and earth shake
Lovestruck
The tremors keep repeating and I tell myself keep breathing
But I'm caught in your aftershock"

Anyone else get the feeling that Demi will be singing this on 'Dancing with the Stars' this season? Call us crazy!

Overall, this is a great anthem to lead us into summer!

'Yes I Am' is a little more sultry and a bit slower tempo, but shows off Demi's voice well. It's definitely not as catchy as 'Aftershock' though.

Here's a sample of the 'Yes I Am' lyrics:

"Sexy lady Knows what she wants out of life
See she got her own means
Doing whatever she likes
Feels good to have you
She don't need you
She can't depend on a man
After all that she's been through
She ain't running behind you
Trust me I know 'cause I am her"

Demi Lovato's 'Unbroken' album was released last fall in the U.S., but it just hit stores in Japan this week.

Demi hasn't yet told fans if these tracks will be released in the states, but c'mon ... she's got to, right?

What do you think of Demi Lovato's bonus tracks? Do you like 'Aftershock' or 'Yes I Am' better?

Demi Lovato’s New Single Is “Give Your Heart a Break” And We TOTALLY Called It

Remember when Demi Lovato said that “Who’s That Boy” was going to be her next single off of “Unbroken” after “Skyscraper?” Uh, we think we missed something, because we never heard that song on the radio once nor ever saw a music vid for it. Just sayin’. But now Demi’s official new single is “Give Your Heart a Break,” and, whatever, we basc predicted that back when we first heard the album in September cause we’re geniuses. And ya know what? We have a good feeling about this single, you guys.

We’re can see it now — a music vid that involves making out with Joe Jonas a hot dude on a bed and hearing the song on the radio and on MTV more than they play Rihanna songs. No? Just us? Ok then.

WDYT of “Give Your Heart a Break?” Which “Unbroken” song would you have chosen as the next single?

Demi Lovato Calls 'Who's That Boy' 'Flirty, Exciting'

It's been just over a month since the release of Demi Lovato's third studio album, Unbroken. Even though the album didn't give Lovato her highest Billboard chart debut — Unbroken debuted at #4, while her first solo album, Don't Forget, debuted at #2 and her sophomore album, Here We Go Again, debuted at #1 — the 19-year-old's latest effort was not only a favorite among Lovato's loyal fans but a critics' favorite as well.

"I was really surprised that the critics loved it," Lovato told MTV News. "I was very excited about it, and I'm really thankful that they do because critics can be hard. So anytime you get a good review from them, I'm really thankful about it."

Coming off the success of the first single, "Skyscraper," an inspirational ballad, Lovato is ready to get her Lovatics on their feet with her new single, "Who's That Boy."

"It's just a fun, upbeat song," Lovato said of the second single. "It's flirty, it's sexy, it's exciting and I love it. I think it's radio-friendly, and I think it's a good choice for a second single."

The song features electro-pop singer Dev, one of the many collaborators Lovato worked with on the album — others include Jason Derülo, Missy Elliott, Timbaland and Iyaz.

"Dev is really good," Lovato said. "Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic actually wrote the song and produced it and he was the one that got Dev on the song."

Lovato said they've "thought about" shooting a video for "Who's That Boy" but do not have a shoot date.

Next on the singer's list is her upcoming tour. Lovato hits the road next month for 10 dates, beginning November 16 in Detroit, where she will be able to showcase this very special album for her fans.

"Making the album was a personal journey for me; it was kind of like a roller coaster," Lovato said. "I was going through so much over the past year, but at the end of it I just wanted to inspire people and just give them music to have fun dancing to and listening to, and hopefully I accomplished that."

So what's the one song off Unbroken that Lovato can't get enough of?

"I think it would be 'Unbroken,' " Lovato said. " 'Unbroken' is my favorite song off the album. What I love about that song so much is that it's upbeat, it's fun to dance to, I love blaring it in the car. It's one of those songs."

Demi Lovato Performs "My Love Is Like A Star" At Z100 Jingle Ball Event

Demi Lovato was in New York City on Friday, performing a short set for local radio station Z100′s annual holiday concert promotional event. A concert before the concert? Is that like the “shirt before the shirt?” If so, then, sure. Lovato kicked the announcement off by performing the Unbroken track ”My Love Is Like A Star,” as well as first single “Skyscraper” and her surprising rendition of Lil Wayne’s “How To Love.” Even with less than optimal acoustics, Lovato continues to prove that she has the talent to back up all of this attention, gradually moving from a subtle and sleepy midtempo song to a full-on vocal awakening by its end, one that’s filled with Christina Aguilera-esque growls and spastic vocal runs, topped with delicate sprinkling of high notes, all to prove that yes, in fact, this girl can REALLY SING. Point taken, but how much longer will we need to be reminded? Watch her performance below.

Z100′s Jingle Ball is slated for December 9 at Madison Square Garden. Along with Lovato, performers include: Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, LMFAO, David Guetta, Pitbull, Foster the People, Gym Class Heroes and Hot Chelle Rae. So, you know, you might want to ask for an early gift this year.

DEMI LOVATO SAYS SHE DECIDED TO BE OPEN WITH FANS THE MINUTE SHE LEFT TREATMENT

Demi Lovato engaged in two enlightening (and separate) interviews with Canadian TV and radio to promote ‘Unbroken’ and revealed details about both serious (regarding her treatment) and silly (what she brings on tour) topics.

In the ‘Uncut’ video chat with ET, Lovato revealed the moment she decided to be an open book to her fans about the issues that landed her in a treatment center a year ago. She said, “When I left treatment and decided to work on music again, that’s when I decided to be honest about all of my issues. There would be no holding back and we definitely didn’t want my music to hold anything back.”

Lovato navigated the murky waters of her recovery in the digital age of Twitter and Facebook, when information is instant. Oftentimes, unflattering reports, whether they are true or not, travel at the speed of sound. However, she felt that social media platforms only strengthen the bond with her fans and allowed her to be as honest as possible. She didn’t shy away from discussing her struggles, which made her closer to the people who love her work. “I am proud of them, since I feel like I am honest and loyal to my fans,” she proclaimed about her adoring fans. “I can brush off the haters.”

She also revealed that she loves to tour and travels heavy. Duh. She joked, “I’m a girl. I bring everything, blankets, comforters.”

During her chat at Z103.5, Lovato was told that a fan actually left a funeral to line up outside of the station for a chance to meet or catch a glimpse of the ‘Skyscraper’ singer! The rationale was that a dead person can’t get mad. True story!

Lovato was also asked about her relationships with fellow teen pop celebs, like Selena Gomez and her ex, Joe Jonas. When Sel Go visited the same station, she said, “Demi is very strong. She went through a lot and she’s finding her path. She’s doing a good job.”

Lovato was touched by Sel’s comments, responding, “Aw, I love her. She is such a sweetheart. She is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.” Lovato also replied , “That’s awesome” when the host told her that Jonas downloaded her album since he wanted to check out her musical direction and “support a friend.” It was a Disney love fest!

Demi Lovato--New Album Outselling Joe Jonas's

If Demi Lovato were all about revenge on ex-boyfriends, she'd have the perfect means of seeking it right now. Her new album Unbroken is presently outselling that of former boyfriend Joe Jonas's new album Fastlife.

According to a report from Hollywood Life, Demi is presently outshining Joe on the music charts. His new album Fastlife was released on October 11th and has barely made it into the top ten. Demi's Unbroken, however--released on September 20th--made it all the way to the top of the digital sales chart--and stayed there.

Fortunately, the talented Skyscraper singer really doesn't seem like the kind of girl who is setting on getting revenge. She's worked on lots of her own issues this past year, and likely has put aside things like seeking revenge--as they pale in comparison to her own struggles.

There were some rumors going around a few weeks back indicating a possible reconciliation between Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato, but now it seems they were just that--rumors. And that's probably a good thing, too--at least where Demi is concerned. When one is working on emotional issues it's usually best to steer clear of relationships until those issues are under reasonable control.

Congratulations to Demi Lovato on the instant success of her new album Unbroken. And congrats to Joe Jonas, too. Even though Demi's ahead of him on the music charts, he's still doing very well there--and hey, a little healthy competition never hurt anyone.

Do you think Demi Lovato is secretly thrilled that she's topping Joe Jonas on the charts with her new album?

Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo Get 'Together' For New Track

For Demi Lovato's third studio album, Unbroken, she wanted to show fans that not only had she come back from a tough year, but she was feeling and sounding better than ever.

Lovato returned to the music scene by giving her pop sound more of an R&B flair, teaming up with acts like Timbaland and Missy Elliott, and getting a hand from pop/R&B star Jason Derülo.

Lovato and Derülo's midtempo ballad delivers an inspirational message about how we can change the world if we come together. When MTV News caught up with Derülo — whose sophomore album, Future History, dropped on Tuesday — he told us it was all about being in the right place at the right time for their collaboration.

"The song is called 'Together' and I just really just happened to be in Miami," Derülo said. "I'm very rarely in Miami and I live in Miami, but before the time I was there, I was there like six months prior and then I haven't been there for a long, long time. But I guess they knew that I lived in Miami. A mutual friend called me and was like, 'Hey, we're at the studio, Demi wanted to get in with you if you were around.' "

Luckily, Derülo was in MIA and dropped everything to record with Demi — even if it was in the middle of the night.

"I came down to visit my grandfather for a day, so I went in at like 3 a.m. and we knocked it out," Derülo recalled. "We were there till about 9 in the morning, but it was really cool."

Demi Lovato Teases Unbroken Remixes

Demi Lovato's latest release, Unbroken, is garnering lots of attention thanks to its catchy tracks and empowering message. Beyond co-signs from Lovatics and a number of celebrities, including Ashley Greene, Sean Kingston and even Joe Jonas, it's also received great reviews from the hardest people to please: the critics.

But Lovato isn't paying attention to any of it. She told MTV News she's more focused on the here and now and the excitement of having a whole new crop of music for everyone to hear. "I haven't actually looked at any of the critics or reviews," she said. "So, if they're good, awesome; if they're bad, whatever."

According to reports, despite some stiff competition on the charts from the likes of Tony Bennett and Lady Antebellum, Lovato is still expected to sell pretty big. Billboard.com reports that she'll likely sell about 110,000 copies of her album, besting her previous chart-topping release, 2009's Here We Go Again, which sold slightly less with 108,000.

"I'm feeling really excited," Lovato said. "The album just came out, so we're really, really excited. And it seems to be doing well, so I'm really, really happy."

Now that the album is getting some love and she's readying the release of her next single, "Who's That Boy," it seems like a good time to start remixing tracks. "I'd love to hear the feedback on who would want to remix," she said. "We actually have a remix on the album by Wizz Dumb, and he remixed 'Skyscraper,' and it sounds really awesome. You can check that out: It's on the album."

If anyone would jump on the album, Lil Wayne might be just the right guy. Lovato has certainly made his track "How to Love" all her own. Of a potential collaboration, she said, "That would be amazing. I've never met him in my life, so if I got to be onstage with him, I would just die."

Demi Lovato's new album Unbroken has finally arrived, and just about everyone loves it, including her ex Joe Jonas and his ex-girlfriend Ashley Greene. It's a lovefest in the music world, except maybe not so much for Ray J, Fabolous and 50 Cent, who are all discrediting each other over an alleged Vegas dust-up over the weekend.
