Was Justin Bieber to Blame? Rita Ora Opens Up About Her Split With Calvin Harris

Rita Ora has broken her silence about her break-up with producer Calvin Harris.

Less than a week after he announced via Twitter that their relationship was over, the 23-year-old singer spoke about the split on the social networking site as well.

"I don't usually address speculation but I've had an incredible time w Calvin,& i will treasure the memories," Rita tweeted Thursday. "I've moved on from this topic so i hope people will respect that and do the same."

Days before, Calvin Harris tweeted, "To address speculation - myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best."

After the duo started dating in May 2013, Rita went on to dish to the UK Mirror about how they made their long distance relationship work. "You have to fly each other out, you just have to," she said last month. "Sometimes you fly for 20 hours, sometimes you only fly for five hours. It's an effort, but you make it work."

"I'm not a fan of long distance relationships," Rita continued. "If you had a choice, you want that person with you. It makes me pretty sad. But you work with what you've got."

Before the duo confirmed their split, the "R.I.P." songstress was spotted hanging out with Justin Bieber quite a bit. Not long after, TMZ reported that Rita and Calvin called it quits because he heard she was getting comfy with the Biebs during recording sessions over the past few months.

According to the site, Calvin reportedly found out that the "Confident" crooner had been rubbing his lady's back and she had been sitting in his lap as well.

Neither Rita or Calvin have addressed the Bieber rumors...yet.

Rita Ora 'comforted by Justin Bieber's arrest pal' after split from boyfriend Calvin Harris

A few weeks earlier, Rita Ora was talking about her excitement of moving in with boyfriend Calvin Harris.

Now the couple have split with the superstar DJ revealing they ended their relationship "some time ago" in a statement on Twitter.

It has since been rumoured the pair called time on their romance after the Hot Right Now singer was getting close to Justin Bieber during time in the studio.

But it seems Bieber might be the innocent party as it's reported his pal Khali Amir Sharieff, who was arrested with the controversial star in Miami earlier this year, has been comforting Rita instead.

A source told The Sun: "Rita was a little mortified that Calvin tweeted about the split but she’s just getting on with things.

"She has been with Khalil but who knows how long it will last?"

Calvin wished Rita "all the best" in the future and was happy to be seen photographed leaving a club in LA with a group of ladies at the weekend.

The source added: "A lot of things worked against her and Calvin, such as distance and hectic work schedule.

"And Rita is a self-admitted party girl. She likes to have fun and sometimes she can be hard to keep up with — not that there’s anything wrong with that."

It has also been rumoured that Justin was the reason behind their break-up after she got close to him in the studio.

Meanwhile, Khali, who signed to Def Jam records in 2008, has insisted in the past that he’s all about the music and doesn't want to get himself in trouble, despite his arrest.

He said: "I’m not too much of a wild guy. I’m all about work, I’m all about studio. A lot of different things I do keep me stable."

Rita, 23, and Calvin, 30, were last spotted together at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow where they both performed and Rita even watched from the side of the stage as Calvin took to the decks.

Justin Bieber Triggered the Calvin Harris/Rita Ora Break-Up

Justin Bieber is at the center of the break-up of deejay Calvin Harris and Rita Ora ... and let's just say it wasn't because Justin was into Calvin.

Our sources say ... word got back to Calvin, Justin and Rita got "touchy feely" with each other while they were in the recording studio together over the last few months. Calivn heard they were very affectionate -- she would sit on his lap, he would rub her back, etc.

Justin was down in Mexico for the last few days ... and not coincidentally RIta was there as well.

For Calvin's' part ... he was out in Hollywood earlier this week with a slew of women ... and when we asked him about Rita hanging out with Bieber, he gave a very telling response.

Sources close to Harris and Rita tell TMZ ... he's already had her things removed from his L.A. house. We're also told he produced a few songs for her, but now he won't allow their release.

Nick Jonas Put His Feelings About Rita Ora In A Song

It seems that once upon a time Nick Jonas was crushing on Rita Ora — and she kind of crushed him, apparently. Well, at least that’s the case according to a song he wrote back in 2013.

As part of a slew of songs last year that never manifested into an album, Jonas penned one particularly cutting track for him and his bros titled “What Do I Mean To You,” in which he bemoans a woman named Rita’s lack of interest in him.

“No need for water, Rita, you got the wine / Searching for diamonds, when I gave you the time / Keys to an open door, don’t need a lock / Stains on a dirty floor, you don’t see a spot,” he wails.

Heavy, man.

On a recent edition of “Watch What Happens Live,” Ora said that she and Jonas never had any sort of romantic entanglement — but did suspect that the song was about her.

“I never dated him,” she said. “I actually met Nick through a friend and it was a very weird situation because we were close, but it never went to that level, and then I read the lyric and I kind of messaged him and was like, ‘I have no idea where this came from. If you want to talk about it, call me.’”

“He was like, ‘You know what, I just obviously didn’t put out how I felt across to you properly.’ And it was one of those situations,” she added. “He never really told me that, I think, but regardless we’re still friends and I still have a lot of respect for him.”

Filming for the movie adaptation of E.L James' best-selling erotic novel has already begun in Vancouver. Jamie and Dakota Johnson, who plays Anastasia Steele, were seen filming in a local coffee shop.
