Miley Cyrus Announces Tour, Performs "Party In The U.S.A." on 'Today Show'

Miley Cyrus not only rocked the stage at Saturday Night Live this weekend but she also tore up the Today Show plaza!

This morning the "Wrecking Ball" singer stopped by the morning news show to promote her upcoming album Bangerz, which hits stores Oct 8. She talked to them about sex, her new music and even discussed hat recent feud with singer Sinead O'Connor.

Miley made us LOL when she talked about being sexual and made fun of Matt Lauer's sex life. Watch that awkwardness go down here.

The best part of her interview was when she revealed to fans that she's going on tour next year! Woot woot!

Opening up to everyone wasn't all Miley was there to do, of course she hit the stage and performed "We Can't Stop", "Wrecking Ball", and even busted out her oldie "Party in the U.S.A!" Watch it all go down in the clips here!

Miley Cyrus Fans Urge President Obama to Make Her Song U.S. Anthem

Miley Cyrus has to have to best and most clever fans ever!

According to The Herald Sun, Miley's fans, or smilers as she likes to call them, have created an online petition that calls for President Obama to switch the United States' national anthem to Miley's "Party in the U.S.A."

"Obama please make Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA our national anthem. It is what is best for this country," the petition says.

LOL!

Better start signing though! For the petition to be put to the government, it needs 100,000 signatures. So far, Miley's petition has 254 signers...just 99,743 to go!

Miley Cyrus Petition: Group Wants ‘Party In The USA’ As New National Anthem

A Miley Cyrus petition recently launched at the We The People petition site has one goal in mind: make the singer’s hit song “Party in the USA” America’s new National Anthem, replacing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” which has officially held the title since March 3, 1931.

Before we have a CD demolition Dixie Chicks-style, however, it’s worth mentioning the Cyrus has nothing to do with this, and hasn’t released a comment at this time. In order for the White House to review the petition and issue an official response, the petitioners will need 100,000 signatures by August 1.

As of 5 a.m. EST on Monday, there were 322 signatures, leaving the Miley Cyrus petition in need of 99,678. While the petition has been active since July 2, it takes a little time to get the word out. Here at The Inquisitr, we’ve seen a few posts hit 10,000 Facebook likes in a short amount of time, so it’s not farfetched to think supporters might reach their goal well ahead of the deadline.

There’s certainly no shortage of love for “Party in the USA.” Mashable notes that it’s the 23rd most-viewed video on YouTube and that to-date, it has amassed 342 million views, making the 100k goal even more feasible.

The song centers on a girl’s move to Los Angeles and drops mentions of Jay-Z and Britney Spears throughout.

Miley may know how to throw a good "Party" but it looks like fame comes more "Naturally" to Selena. Selena's new music video "Naturally" beat Miley's "Party in the U.S.A." on iTunes. Sel couldn't wait to tweet the news to all her fans. "I am speechless!" she tweeted.

Besides her chart-toppin music video, Sel has a fashion line in the works, not to mention her upcoming movie What Boys Want about a girl who hear hear boys' thoughts!! Easy to see how Miley could get jealous.
