Selena Gomez Announces Her New Action Movie Project 'The Getaway'

Selena Gomez is ready to shoot another movie after wrapping "Spring Breakers" in Florida. Sharing a Q&A video for her fans on Saturday, April 7, the former "Wizards of Waverly Place" star announced that she will soon work on an action film called "The Getaway" with Ethan Hawke.

Telling her devotees about her next project, the "Monte Carlo" starlet said that she will do some movies before going back to the studio to record her fourth album. She shared, "I'm doing another movie called 'The Getaway' with Ethan Hawke. It's really, really exciting."

"I go to Bulgaria and then I start filming," so the former Disney darling said of her new film. "It's more of an action movie, which is also different. So we're doing that and then hopefully another movie, but that hasn't really been confirmed yet. Then I'll start working on my fourth album, which will be the best album I'll ever do!"

Plot details of "The Getaway", however, are still scarce. It is unclear whether or not the film is a remake of a 1972 movie of the same title which starred Steve McQueen and Ali MacGrawy, and focused on an ex-con and his wife who try to evade the cops after a robbery goes wrong.

Aside from "Spring Breakers" and the upcoming action film, Selena will next be seen starring opposite Eli Roth in Chilean thriller film "Aftershock". She has also been courted to star in several forthcoming movies such as "Hot Mess", "13 Reasons Why" and "Sky Is Everywhere".

Listen: Demi Lovato 'Aftershock' and 'Yes I Am' Bonus Tracks!

Listen to Demi Lovato's new bonus tracks that were recently leaked online - 'Aftershock' and 'Yes I Am.'

The two bonus songs appear on the Japanese deluxe version of her 'Unbroken' album.

Why hasn't Demi shared these with her U.S. fans yet?

'Aftershock' is an amazingly cool track with a fun pop vibe and equally cool lyrics, such as the chorus:

"Lovestruck
My heart is overheating and it won't stop
I try to slow the beating, but you're so hot
The tremors keep repeating and I tell myself keep breathing
But I'm caught in your aftershock
Hit me like an earthquake
Feel my heaven and earth shake
Lovestruck
The tremors keep repeating and I tell myself keep breathing
But I'm caught in your aftershock"

Anyone else get the feeling that Demi will be singing this on 'Dancing with the Stars' this season? Call us crazy!

Overall, this is a great anthem to lead us into summer!

'Yes I Am' is a little more sultry and a bit slower tempo, but shows off Demi's voice well. It's definitely not as catchy as 'Aftershock' though.

Here's a sample of the 'Yes I Am' lyrics:

"Sexy lady Knows what she wants out of life
See she got her own means
Doing whatever she likes
Feels good to have you
She don't need you
She can't depend on a man
After all that she's been through
She ain't running behind you
Trust me I know 'cause I am her"

Demi Lovato's 'Unbroken' album was released last fall in the U.S., but it just hit stores in Japan this week.

Demi hasn't yet told fans if these tracks will be released in the states, but c'mon ... she's got to, right?

What do you think of Demi Lovato's bonus tracks? Do you like 'Aftershock' or 'Yes I Am' better?

Eli Roth, Selena Gomez to star in earthquake thriller 'Aftershock'

Eli Roth and Selena Gomez will star in earthquake thriller Aftershock.

The low-budget project, which Hostel director Roth co-wrote with Nicolas Lopez and Guillermo Amoedo, centres on a devastating natural disaster that hits Chile. The quake strikes an island that houses an insane asylum, causing the inmates to break free.

The movie will follow on from The Last Exorcism and be released under the 'Eli Roth Presents' banner.

Lopez will direct Aftershock with Roth in the lead role, and his past collaborators Ariel Levy, Nicolas Martinez and Lorenza Izzo among the supporting cast. Music star Gomez, who starred in the recent Monte Carlo, signed up for a cameo role after visiting Chile for a concert.

Roth told Deadline that he has been a fan of Lopez's films since his 2004 debut Promedio Rojo.

"This collaboration marks the beginning of what we call Chilewood, making genre films for the global market using all the resources Chile has to offer," Roth said.

"We are making a smart elevated disaster genre movie with superb production value, something really big. The film's going to be very scary, very intense, and very real."

The Weinstein Company and Relativity Media are reportedly in talks with Aftershock's producers about securing distribution in the US.
