Ed Sheeran: 'New song isn't about Taylor Swift relationship'

Ed Sheeran has denied assumptions that a new song on his album is about Taylor Swift.

The singer has recorded 'Don't' for his forthcoming new album x, which includes the lyrics: "Me and her, we make money the same way/Four cities, two planes the same day."

"It's 100% not about Taylor," Sheeran told Rolling Stone about the song, which hears him criticising the way she ended their relationship.

However, Sheeran has played the song to Swift and revealed her response. He explained: "She was just like, 'Whatever happens, ever, between us as friends, I never want to piss you off that much'."

Sheeran also admitted that he's all too aware of the repercussions if he did date Swift, adding: "Taylor's one of these people that if you piss her off and she writes a song about you, it's not good news for you.

"I've never dated Taylor. I've dated a few singers, though."

Sheeran's second studio album x will be released on June 23, while his new single 'Sing' will precede it on June 1.
