Justin Bieber Told To Clean Graffiti From Australian Hotel

Justin Bieber has only been in Australia a couple of days but he’s already infuriating the locals.

The Canadian pop singer and his entourage painted some colorful cartoon characters on the external walls of the Gold Coast’s QT Hotel. While hotel management were apparently thrilled with the “piece of art in appreciation of his stay,” local councillors don’t agree.

Gold Coast mayor Tom Tait has said the hotel in Surfers Paradise may be served an order to get rid of the graffiti. "It might be on private land but it's in prominent public view," a council spokesman told AAP. "The mayor will be contacting our compliance officers today to have a notice issued to the hotel to clean it up."

Bieber posted a photo of his handiwork on Instagram and reportedly left several spraycans behind for staff to remove. Tait said Bieber would be back in his good-books if he cleaned-up after himself. "Just come and clean it up and we'll be happy with you," he said.

Even the state of Queensland’s attorney-general has offered some words on the matter. "Justin Bieber is a role model to many young people so, if the claims are correct, it is disappointing that he did this without permission," Jarrod Bleijie told reporters.

The pop singer visited the famous beach strip following his shows Nov. 26 and 27 in nearby Brisbane. Bieber’s 10-date “Believe” tour of Australasia began Nov. 23 at Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, and wraps Dec. 8 at Perth Arena.

His graffiti incident is the latest in a growing list of gaffes which have plagued Bieber through the year. On the European leg of his world tour, he appeared late on stage at London’s O2 Arena -- and later apologized to his fans. At a later show in the same venue, Bieber apparently fainted backstage and required hospitalization.

And then he got in hot water for an ill-advised comment left in the guestbook of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. There’s also been an assault charge and speeding accusations, he’s been tackled by a fan and had his tour bus searched for weed. There was his “monkey business” in Germany, the “mop bucket” situation, the heist after his show in South Africa, he was booed at the Billboard Music Awards, he got snapped outside a South American brothel and there was his unfortunate treatment of the Argentine flag.
