The 2013 MTV EMA Awards started off with a bang as Miley Cyrus kicked off the show with a space-themed performance of "We Can't Stop," and didn't disappoint in the controversy department as she proceeded to twerk with a little person.
Other performers included: Katy Perry, Eminem and Bruno Mars, all of whom also took home awards.
