Taylor Swift’s latest song ‘The Last Time’ is rumoured to be about her ex-boyfriend, hearththrob Jake Gyllenhaal, and if that’s true then he was one hell of an “unreliable” boyfriend.
The 22-year-old singer, whose latest album Red sold a whopping 1.2 million copies in its debut week, has confessed that the new track is about an “unreliable guy”, and it also refers to a particular Hollywood lifestyle that has sparked speculation that it’s about the ‘Love And Other Drugs’ star.
Taylor went public with Jake last year, and was even seen getting close to his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Talking recently to National Public Radio, Taylor said: "The idea was based on this experience I had with someone who was kind of this unreliable guy. You never know when he's going to leave, you never know when he's going to come back, but he always does come back.”
She also added: "It's a really fragile emotion you're dealing with when you want to love someone, but you don't know if it's smart to."
The couple only dated for a few months, but at the time it was reported that Jake was the one who pursued the relationship, and also the one who decided to end it because of the media attention they were getting.
"He said he wasn't feeling it anymore and was uncomfortable with all the attention they got. He also said he could feel the age difference,” a source said at the time. "Taylor is really upset. We told her not to move so fast with this but she didn't listen."
