One Direction 'Heading To The White House To Perform Special Concert For Sasha And Malia Obama'

One Direction are set to rub shoulders with the most powerful man on the planet after President Barack Obama reportedly invited the chart topping boyband to the White House for a special visit.

The lads, who are in the US promoting their new album Take Me Home were reportedly invited to meet the President and perform for his daughters Malia and Sasha, who are huge fans of the British group.

A source told the Daily Star: “It’s an open invitation for a date to be arranged that fits with everyone’s busy schedules. It’s not every parent who can invite the hottest band in the world to their home. They will be the envy of girls across the world.”

The invitation is believed to be a thank you to the girls for their help in their father's re-election campaign, with Obama winning against Republican candidate Mitt Romney last week. The Obama girls have already seen the band perform, after being spotted at one of their concerts in the summer when they toured the US.

It's not the first time the boys have been invited to the White House. The First Lady, Michelle Obama is reported to have invited the 'Live While We're Young' star to the annual Easter egg hunt in April though the boys couldn't go due to work commitments.

We're sure Niall Horan especially will be pleased to finally meet the President as he's such a huge fan, the Irish stud even has a life size model of Obama at his home in London.
