LISTEN TO ORIGINAL RECORDINGS OF DEMI LOVATO’S ‘SHUT UP AND LOVE ME’ + ‘FOR THE LOVE OF A DAUGHTER’

Fans of Demi Lovato have two new recordings to enjoy from the ‘X Factor‘ judge. ‘Shut Up and Love Me,’ is an unreleased fan favorite, while ‘For the Love of a Daughter’ is a three-year-old demo of a song that ended up making its way onto Lovato’s 2011 album ‘Unbroken.’

Lovato wrote ‘For the Love of a Daughter’ with William Beckett of The Academy Is… for her 2009 release ‘Here We Go Again,’ but her label and management reportedly thought the subject matter was too heavy for Lovato’s pre-teen audience at the time.

The track tackles the relationship between a girl and her estranged father, with Lovato singing, “Oh, father, please, father / I’d love to leave you alone / But I can’t let you go / Oh, father, please, father / Put the bottle down / For the love of a daughter.”

As for ‘Shut Up and Love Me,’ a pleasant mid-tempo love song, Lovato told MTV, “We’re trying to find the right place on an album where it fits. The last two albums it hasn’t really fit, so maybe this next one it’ll be released.”
