DURING One Direction’s tour of the US, Louis Tomlinson was shacked up in some of the best five-star accommodation Simon Cowell’s money could buy.
On a rare night off in New York he was even upgraded to the Manhattan Suite of a posh downtown hotel where he had a view across the city that would cost the average punter thousands of dollars a night.
But last night the star was holed up in a student flat in Fallowfield, Manchester, with girlfriend Eleanor sharing a single bed.
And the gourmet £25 club sandwich experience was replaced by fish-finger butties rustled up by his stunning student missus.
Louis told me: “Eleanor’s really down to earth. She makes me fish finger sandwiches and it’s great to do something normal after the madness of the tour.
“All my mates are at university, and it’s a life I haven’t had a chance to enjoy, so it’s great to turn up and sample a bit of it.”
Hopefully she shares a gaff with other girls or the experience might not be so pleasant. Newspaper for toilet roll and all that...

I wouldn’t fancy covering his insurance bill for that.
And he should steer clear of Louis’ new policeman pal when he’s on traffic duty.
