Now that "The X Factor" U.K. boy band One Direction has become world famous, the guys in the group are being followed by paparazzi and fans pretty much every time they go out in public. One Direction's Louis Tomlinson, 20, found out the hard way (no pun intended) how intrusive that can be when he and One Direction's Liam Payne, 18, went surfing in Sydney on April 12, 2012.
Upon his exit from the water, Tomlinson discovered he had to hide his crotch from the paparazzi and news cameras because he had an ... well, let's just say it rhymes with "direction."
Tomlinson kept a sense of humor about the situation, as he told the assembled onlookers, "I've got kind of an awkward position right now, so I've got to cover up the goods."
Tomlinson later tweeted, "Had another great day surfing today! I LOVE Australia ! Missing home tho, want a sunday dinner!! Cut my toe surfing :( "
One Direction is touring Australia and New Zealand in April 2012. The group's headlining tours have sold out within minutes in every country where the tours are going.
One Direction came in third place on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2010. Since then, the group has had No. 1 hits in several countries.
