Kevin Jonas to Participate in 'Denville Up & Running'

After Denville's thriving downtown area sustained major damage due to extreme flooding caused by Hurricane Irene, local businesses and residents -many of which have been there for decades- are now struggling to rebuild and reopen.

In response, Denville volunteers have come together to organize “Denville Up & Running”, a fundraiser benefiting both local merchants and residents affected by Hurricane Irene, to be held on Sunday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fundraiser will feature a 5K run/walk, “Band+Aid on Broadway Music Festival”, entertainment, food, and children's activities.

Another highlight of the event will be Kevin Jonas, one of the members of the well-known band “The Jonas Brothers”, who will be on hand for a meet-and-greet with fans.

"Denville's downtown is known throughout northern New Jersey as a center for vibrant local businesses," Stephanie Meehan, volunteer and 46-year Denville resident said. "We knew we had to do something. We love our town so much and we wanted to help our neighbors and merchants rebuild their lives."

Everyone is invited to lace up their sneakers to come out and support Denville merchants and residents affected by the hurricane. Whether participating in the race or not, there will be something for everyone.

Highlights of the event will include:

5K run/walk (9 a.m. registration/check-in, 11 a.m. start)
Band+Aid on Broadway: two stages full of live music and entertainment
Retail Street Festival
Denville Farmers Market
Zumba classes
Children’s activities
50/50 raffle
Beer tent
