Radio Disney is kicking off its 15th Birthday celebration with a star-studded lineup of guests set to “Take Over with Ernie D” starting Monday, April 4. Guests include Selena Gomez, Willow Smith, Jordin Sparks, Greyson Chance, Cody Simpson, Ashley Tisdale and Austin Butler, cast members from Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up,” “Lemonade Mouth” and “Good Luck Charlie,” with more to come.
The station will also have over 80 chances for you to enter our “Pick Your Present” contest where they can have the chance to win amazing prizes including guitars signed by Taylor, Selena, Willow, Allstar Weekend, Greyson and Cody, and more, plus iPads, iPod Touches, Wii consoles, Flip cameras and gift cards, which will be given away multiple times a day. To kick everything off, check out a sneak peek of Selena’s Take Over. She got the party started with an interview and an acoustic performance of “Who Says” airing Monday at 3:00pm PT/6:00pm ET.
In response to a fan’s question on who the coolest person she’s ever met, Selena said, “The coolest person would have to be Cameron (Quiseng) from Allstar Weekend. He is so funny and he is very nice, and I don’t believe a person can be that happy all the time. He’s very interesting and he’s very sweet!” Ernie responded, “So out of all the people you’ve ever met and look up to, Cameron’s the coolest?” Selena added without hesitation, “For sure, yes.”
While in studio, Selena excitedly shared her ringtone was Allstar Weekend’s single saying, "It’s party like it’s ‘Not Your Birthday.’ I love their new album and I wanted the song, so I went online and I purchased it. Sometimes I’ve ignored calls just to listen to the song…Cameron was with me and heard my phone ring and said, ‘Seriously?’”
When discussing what’s most exciting right now in her life, Selena said, “I’m most excited about tour for sure because it’s the first time that I have a little bit more freedom creatively… I love my fans and I love being very interactive with them, and I get to tour with my best friends Allstar Weekend!”
After Ernie D asks how she thinks the tour will be with all the boys she answers playfully, “First of all, I’m going to need to bring some of my girlfriends, because I’m going to go crazy with all the boys. I think it’s going to be a huge party, which is exactly what I want it to be…always fun, never serious!”
Selena added, "I’m going to be the ‘momma bear’ for sure… I always want to make sure everyone is okay.”
