Miley Cyrus makes Forbes rich list

Miley Cyrus is the youngest star to make a list of Hollywood's top female earners.

Forbes magazine compiles a list of Hollywood's top earning female stars every year, and a large proportion of the faces making up this year's list are under the age of 30.

Pop stars including Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé Knowles have all been declared as the highest-grossing females of last year.

Singer/actress Miley, 17, earned £30 million in 2009, putting her in eighth position on the list, just above 20-year-old country singer Taylor Swift, with £29 million.

R&B star Beyonce, 29, came second on the list after totalling £56 million, and 28-year-old Britney Spears' £41 million saw her come third.

Eccentric singer Lady Gaga, 24, came fourth on the list after earning £40 million. This meant 52-year-old pop icon Madonna was pushed into fifth place, after grossing £37.5 million in 2009.

American talk show host Oprah Winfrey, 56, has earned a whopping £203 million from her media empire, meaning the pop stars couldn't knock her from the number one spot.

Sandra Bullock was the only movie star to make the list, her £37 million income secured her the sixth position on the list.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and television star Judge Judy completed the top ten. Ellen made £35 million and came seventh, while Judy grossed £29 million and was placed tenth.
