Demi Lovato Has Support From Her Co-Stars

Demi Lovato's co-stars have shown their support for the actress-come-singer, following her admission to rehab earlier this week.

As we previously reported, the 18-year old entered rehab to be treated for 'emotional and physical issues' and the Disney star has the full backing of fellow Camp Rock star, Meaghan Martin.

Speaking of Demi, Martin told Hollyscoop: "I'm so proud of Demi. I know she is doing the right thing. She's a good girl and she will find her way back,"

Actor Brandon Mychal Smith, who starred alongside Demi in Sonny with a Chance, also wished the teenager well, telling Entertainment Tonight: "I applaud her for actually having the maturity to let them know, 'Hey, I need my space,' "

"If there's anything that's being portrayed in the media as problematic, it probably isn't. She is probably at home drinking a nice tea, just relaxing. This industry is very brutal and occasionally you just need to take 20 [or] 30 minutes to yourself."

He added: "It's hard to tell production that, or a tour that, and sometimes they don't understand. They want 120 percent out of you and your body can only give you 50."

Meanwhile, Disney star Selena Gomez has refused to comment on Demi's breakdown, with a rep confirming that a statement apparently made by the Wizards of Waverly Place actress was 'not her.'

The spokesperson added to Gossip Cop that 'no statement from Gomez has been made' despite claims that the Natural singer issued a statement claiming Demi was 'her best friend' and that she had visited Lovato.

After reports that Demi checked herself into rehab following a scrap with a backing dancer on the Jonas Brothers US tour, TMZ.com has revealed that America's Best Dance Crew finalist, Alex Welch, was the girl on the receiving end of a punch from Lovato.

The gossip website has claimed that Welch has a bruised left eye after coming to blows with Demi and 'has been talking to lawyers and is considering legal action' after the star reportedly hit her.
