We love Miley Cyrus at Cambio. It seems like her latest video is stirring up a lot of talk.
The 17-year-old just released a music video for her European single, “Who Owns My Heart,” and some parents think it’s a little too racy for the “Hannah Montana” star.
According to the Hollywood Reporter & TMZ, the Parents Television Council is not too fond of it. PTC president Tim Winter says the video, which shows Miley singing on a bed and dancing in a club, “sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly.”
The video was also the topic of HLN’s Showbiz Tonight. One panelist said, “we have to stop looking at her as just a 17-year-old. Age is just a number. She deals with adult issues, she’s a media mogul…she’s a businesswoman. She’s not hanging out with other 17-year-old chit chatting in the hallways of high school chatting about whatever 17-year-olds chat about.”
Other comments floating around have said that she’s doing the same thing that Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera did at that age.
So, what are your thoughts on Miley’s new video?
