Cynthia Erivo is making Golden Globes history!
The 38-year-old actress received her second consecutive nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role in the Wicked movies at the 2026 Golden Globes.
With the two nominations, Cynthia is now the first Black woman to be recognized twice in this category.
After the historic nomination, Cynthia took to her Instagram Story to celebrate.

She continued, “This entire journey could never have been possible without the wonderful leadership of my brother and glorious director @jonmchu and producer extraordinaire everyone could only wish for, Marc Platt.”
Cynthia also congratulated co-star Ariana Grande on her nomination, writing, “Congratulations to my sweet sister @arianagrande!!! Thank you @goldenglobes!!”
Cynthia‘s nomination at the Golden Globes comes after she was snubbed by the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards.
