Taylor Swift to perform at Kate Middleton's birthday next year

Britain's Prince William is reportedly hoping to have Taylor Swift perform at his wife's birthday party.

The Duchess of Cambridge will be celebrating her 32nd birthday on January 9 next year.

William, 31, met the Red singer during a charity event at Kensington Palace last month which he hosted for his youth homeless charity Centrepoint.

After the pair sang a rendition of Livin' On A Prayer with rockstar Jon Bon Jovi, the second-in-line to the throne is said to have spoken to Taylor about his wife's secret party.

"William's been trying to get Kate's surprise sorted for 9 January when she turns 32," a source told British magazine Closer. "When he met Taylor Swift recently he asked her if there's any likelihood she's in the UK for the New Year, or just after, because he knows Kate's a fan and she's love to meet the singer."

Before this happens the royal couple and their baby son Prince George are set to enjoy their first Christmas together as a family.

They also hope to meet up with some A-list pals during the festive season.

"Like any new family, they're looking forward to having some alone time, but they also want to catch up with friends," the insider added.

"There's talk of meeting with the Beckhams. William and David have been in touch since they worked on the Olympic bid together and they're going to be in London for part of the time, so there are tentative plans for a get together."
