Is John Mayer "gutted" after he proposed marriage to Katy Perry and she rejected him?
According to a new report, the "Gravity" singer went through all of the proper channels, including asking her parents, before he asked for her hand in marriage--and she said no!
"John's proposal really unnerved Katy. Even though they have discussed it, she thought it was too soon," a source told Grazia magazine. "She told him she just needed a bit more time to feel whole in herself again," they added.
It would certainly be understandable that Katy would want to take her time, since she was already married once, to Russell Brand.
But, John doesn't exactly seem like the type to want to rush things, so we weren't sure what to think.
GossipCop, however, is shooting down the report, saying they investigated it and no such proposal took place.
Of course, we are hoping that one does eventually, because we do love them together, but we guess we'll just have to wait and see!
