The horrific shooting session during a 'Dark Knight Rises' screening, killing 12 people in the early hours of Friday morning (July 20) has made quite the impact on many people's lives and celebs have been quick to offer their condolences online.
Director Christopher Nolan has since spoken of his 'profound sorrow' following the tragedy, but although thousands of celebs and fans combined have taken to social networking sites to comment on the event, unfortunately nothing can be changed and Chris also commented on this, saying: "Nothing any of us can say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime, but our thoughts are with them and their families.”
Celebrities such as Drake, Simon Cowell, Jared Leto, Miley Cyrus and many more have taken to Twitter to offer their condolences.
Glee star Cory Monteith posted: "guns don't kill people, people do etc.. but until we can fix society somehow you probably shouldn't be able to buy AR-15's at a fishing shop ... such a senseless tragedy. when are we going to reconsider the role of guns in society? how many more times does this have to happen?"
Journalist and TV personality Piers Morgan has also brought up the availability of guns, saying: "Lunatics like this will always try and get guns. It should be 100,000 times harder than it is for them to do so. That's my point. #Colorado"
To which Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus added: "Less guns = less psychopaths who can get guns = less innocent lives lost....seems pretty obvious to me"
And sadly, they all have very valid points in terms of the guns used to kill the 12 innocent people. However, are messages like this enough to change the law?
Only time will tell...more updates coming your way very soon.
