Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande hit the stage to close out the Universal presentation at 2025 CinemaCon held at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Wednesday (April 2) in Las Vegas.
The Wicked movie stars made their first appearance, both wearing all black, to promote the upcoming Part Two, aka Wicked: For Good!
While on stage, the pair jokingly poked fun at their Wicked: Part One press tour, with Cynthia saying, “I promise less waterworks this time,” and Ariana saying she already has tissues packed.
In addition to their appearance on stage, the first trailer was shown for those in the audience, and while we don’t have the footage available, we do have descriptions of what was shown!

According to THR, “It opens with cracking windows around Glinda in a palace. ‘Elphaba, I know you’re here…Just come out before the monkeys spot you,’ says Ariana Grande. ‘This is between us, the wizard and I,’ says Cynthia Erivo. Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) leads a squadron that is searching for Elphaba. Elphaba writes ‘Our Wizard Lies’ in the sky with her broomstick. An angry mob with pitchforks comes.”
“The song ‘For Good’ plays – ‘I’ve heard it said, that people come into our lives, for a reason,’ Ariana Grande sings. ‘Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better,’ Elphaba and Glinda harmonize together. We see an overhead shot of Dorothy walking the yellow brick road with the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion.”
“‘Because I knew you…I have been changed for good,’ the pair sing together. ‘I’m off to see the wizard,’ says Cynthia Erivo. She flies through the sky followed by flying monkeys – cut to the title,” they concluded.
In the first footage that was released, we got to see Glinda putting on her crown, a new outfit for Elphaba, Fiyero hunting and confronting her, Glinda singing “For Good,” and even the wedding scene between Glinda and Fiyero that has been teased before!
A snippet from “No Good Deed” was also played in the trailer.

Here’s another synopsis of what was shown, via @wickednewshub:
“The scene opens with Glinda in a tower saying, “Elphaba Thropp, I know you’re there.” We then embark on an emotional journey, featuring several epic moments from the sequel set to No Good Deed. The wedding scene is shown, Fiyero making his choice between Glinda and Elphaba, and him pointing a gun at the Wizard. Between five to seven of Glinda’s costumes are displayed, and we see Elphaba in a treehouse.
Shortly after, For Good begins to play, accompanied by touching moments between the two. A scene shows them lying on each other’s shoulders. Near the end, we see them holding hands during For Good, followed by powerful shots of Elphaba fully embracing her strength as she prepares to face the Wizard.
Other moments in the trailer include the soldiers’ march, a brief glimpse of Dorothy, Wonderful, the Kiamo Ko castle, and numerous animals being released at some point. The footage also provides a deeper look at the world of Oz. In total, approximately 2 minutes and 40 seconds of scenes were shown.”
