Ariana Grande is addressing the rumors.
The 31-year-old Wicked actress is at the center of an ongoing rumor on social media that she and her co-star Cynthia Erivo will perform a medley from the movie to open the 2025 Oscars in March.
While attending the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, Ariana was asked about the rumor.
“I don’t know where this has come from,” she said to Variety.
On Sunday (February 9), at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, where she accepted the Virtuoso Award, she responded to the rumor again.
“What did Cynthia say?,” she asked IndieWire with a laugh upon being asked about opening this year’s Academy Awards.
“Yeah, I don’t know either. It would be really fun. We will have our thermoses, our pink and green thermoses, filled with tea. Hers will probably be rose and an English breakfast mixed together or something like that. In case, we’ll be ready, but I know nothing,” she went on to say.
