Ariana Grande was treated to an amazing surprise during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show!
The 31-year-old Wicked actress was presented with Glinda’s wand from The Wizard of Oz while appearing on the talk show, but an Oz historian has revealed that she wasn’t given the one that was actually used in the movie.
“I have something that’s extremely exciting and special. It’s actually, it was owned by the Smithsonian and now it’s owned in private hands. But for the purposes of our sit down, they loaned it to us. Bring out the original Glinda wand, please,” Drew said.
The Oz Vlog’s Tori Calamito revealed that the wand was indeed used by Billie Burke during the making of The Wizard of Oz, but it was the test wand and not the one used on screen.

“The wand that Ms. Grande is holding was just recently auctioned in September of 2024 by Studio Auctions. It sold for $109,375 and it is in fact a test wand that Billie Burke used for some days of shooting, but it was not in the final film,” she revealed in a TikTok.
The wand was switched for one with “colored stones in it as well because the all white stones weren’t picking up well in technicolor. So there was a changing of the wands.”
