Ariana Grande stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform her new single “the boy is mine” and to promote her forthcoming movie Wicked.
The 30-year-old pop star and actress appeared on the late-night show on Thursday (June 6) and spilled some tea about filming Wicked and meeting Kristin Chenoweth as a child.

Speaking about Wicked, Ariana said that it felt so good to have the trailer out and to being promoting the project.
“It was ours for so long. And it was just every single day for such a long time. And to share it with people and to feel the love that we’ve received in response has been really overwhelming,” she gushed.
Ariana continued, saying, “But the funniest thing is people saying, ‘It must be so weird to see it with all the VFX now. Isn’t that weird?’ And I’m like, ‘Well, yes. They did add some flying monkeys and some… some animals. But these were really practical sets that we were so blessed to be a part of.”
The hitmaker also recalled meeting Kristin and other Wicked stars including Idina Menzel when she was 10.
“My mom spoiled me,” she said. “I got to see the original Broadway cast, and they were doing the Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDs auction where you can bid to go backstage and win a tour and meet the cast. And I kept raising my hand, and my mom was like, ‘Ariana that’s enough, that’s enough.’ And I kept bidding.”
She got to spend extra time with Kristin in her dressing room.
“She invited me in and let me overstay my welcome,” Ariana said. “Her dog peed on the couch. We cleaned it up together.” Kristin sent her home with a wand and glittery shower gel, which she treasured.
For her performance, Ariana belted out her song while wearing a cat mask as a tribute to the song’s music video where she channels Catwoman.
