Brooklyn Beckham Defends Cooking Sauce with Wine Cork Following Criticism

Brooklyn Beckham is responding to the haters.

Last week, the 24-year-old aspiring chef, who is the eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham, took to Instagram to share a few photos of him preparing what appeared to be a bolognese sauce and his followers were quick to notice a wine cork floating in the pot.

“Is the cork added flavour? 🤣” one follower wrote in the comments, while another follower wrote, “Em don’t choke on the wine cork 🥴”

Following the criticism, Brooklyn took to his Story to explain why the cork was added to the pot.

Brooklyn shared a screenshot of a highlighted portion of text that read, More research ensued and we found information that the addition of wine corks added to the cooking liquid ensured a more tender dish.”

The text comes the 2016 Naples Daily News article titled “Let’s Talk Food: Wine corks ensure more tender octopus” from writer Doris Reynolds.

In the article, the writer explains that she has “found several recipes for octopus and was amazed that most of them included wine corks in the instructions.”

However, the article doesn’t mention using wine corks while cooking sauce, but rather focuses on the preparation of octopus around the Mediterranean.

In a recent interview, Brooklyn talked about him and wife Nicola Peltz being in a “throuple” with close friend Selena Gomez.
