The 2019 Met Gala was a star-studded affair – and it raked in a fortune for the museum!
The gala, held on Monday night (May 6), raised $15 million for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, according to a museum representative on Wednesday (May 8).

The event brought in $13 million in 2018.
If you didn’t know, the Met Gala is the museum’s main source of annual funding for exhibitions, publications, acquisitions and capital improvements.
The Costume Institute Gala Benefit this year celebrated the opening of the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” exhibition, and was hosted by Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams, Gucci designer Alessandro Michele, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
