The last thing stars like is to be taken by surprise on the red carpet, whether it's a wardrobe malfunction or running into someone they weren't expecting to see.So when Ryan Seacrest told Taylor Swift on the Grammys red carpet today that he had uncovered some interview footage of her from 2008, even though he promised it was "good," she had a look of slight terror in her eyes.
Cut to the adorable footage of curly-haired 18-year-old Taylor in Ryan's studio talking about getting over a breakup (yup, that was the year she dated Joe Jonas), she said these three prophetic words: "You learn from it. You really do. I'm just trying to shake it off."
When Ryan asked for her reaction, Tay was totally tongue-tied, and her surprise looked legit. "That's wild. I guess I just used to say that a lot," she finally responded.
"Now I'm nominated for that," she continued, regaining her composure. "The only song that was eligible was 'Shake It Off,' and they gave it three nominations."
Not bad. Maybe she should go through more of her old interviews for inspiration.
