There are few thing duller than a grey suit.
But canny Nick Jonas jazzed up his otherwise boring ensemble by donning a pair of eye-catching blue shoes in New York on Thursday.
The former boyband star was looking sharp as he sauntered around in the trendy Tribeca area of the Big Apple.
However the 21-year-old's choice of a grey hued suit and pullover was certainly not the most inspired of choices, given the colour's association with dullness.
But it seems he realised exactly that himself, giving a dash of showbiz pizazz to his look by wearing garish blue leather lace-up shoes.
As if that were not enough, he also underlined his star status by wearing a pair of celebrity standard issue sunglasses.
The former Jonas Brothers star has been trying to man up since his time as a teen idol came to an end.
Earlier this year he looked extremely beefed up and burly as he stepped out in West Hollywood, showing off his toned torso in a tight black T-shirt.
Nick last year revealed he achieved his new bulk by way of an intense workout regime while sticking to a diet of 'lean protein' while 'cutting out 'most carbs.'
He told Men's Fitness: 'I worked with a trainer who showed me some things that I can take with me on the road.
'Basically, it’s circuit training, so about six exercises, all targeting different parts of the body and then following it up with a two-minute cardio burnout. It's been a really effective workout routine for me, and it keeps it interesting.
