Taylor Swift loves reading, and like such others as Kelly Ripa and Rachel McAdams appears on a new poster in support of READ, a project of the American Library Association.
In an exclusive first look for PEOPLE, Swift, in a dress to match her signature red lips, digs into author Lois Lowry's young adult classic The Giver, recipient of the 1994 Newbery Medal.
The book is a fitting choice: Swift makes her next big-screen appearance in the film adaptation, to open Aug. 15. She plays the character Rosemary alongside Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges and Katie Holmes.
A devoted supporter of public libraries, Swift donates books in her hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania.
Since 1985, more than 200 celebrities, musicians and cultural icons have participated in the ALA Celebrity Read campaign.
