Selena Gomez’s Comedy ‘Behaving Badly’ Gets U.S. Distribution

Vertical Entertainment has acquired all U.S. rights to romantic comedy “Behaving Badly,” starring Nat Wolff (“The Fault in our Stars”) and Selena Gomez.

Vertical is planning to release the film in theaters in August to the top 20 markets.

“Behaving Badly” — formerly titled “Parental Guidance Suggested” and “Feed the Dog” — was fully financed by Starboard Entertainment and is a Mad Chance production.

Tim Garrick directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Scott Russell based on Ric Browde’s book “While I’m Dead…Feed The Dog.” Producers are Andrew Lazar and Miri Yoon with Barry Quart and Kevin Tang exec producing.

The film also stars Mary-Louise Parker, Elisabeth Shue, Dylan McDermott, Jason Lee, Heather Graham, Cary Elwes, Gary Busey, and Patrick Warburton.

Wolff portrays a teen willing to do whatever it takes to win the heart of Gomez’ character — even if this means making a bet with a mobster’s son.

The deal was negotiated by Rich Goldberg and Peter Jarowey at Vertical Entertainment, with Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard of Voltage Pictures and Kevin Iwashina and Zac Bright of Preferred Content on behalf of the filmmakers.
