Selena Gomez's family 'vehemently opposed' to her reunion with Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez's parents are 'vehemently opposed' to her reconciliation with Justin Bieber.

The Come And Get It singer and her on/off boyfriend were spotted enjoying a romantic get together in McAllen in Hidalgo County, Texas on Friday but her mother Mandy and stepfather Brian Teefey are worried about her.

According to RadarOnline they believed the break-up with Justin was responsible for her rehab stint in January, with a source saying: 'It's definitely against [Mandy and Brian's] wishes.

'They're doing their best to supervise them. They're tolerating it as long as they know that there is someone who has eyes on them all the time.'

However, they have a limited say in her life, with the source adding: 'They don’t have any control over her. She's pulling the, "Who makes the money around here?" card!

'It's a s**t show behind-the-scenes.

'Selena's parents know they cannot ban her from seeing Justin.

'She even keeps changing her phone number - one of which, her parents don't have the number to!'

Yet Selena, 21, appears besotted with 20-year-old Bieber once again, with Lori Johnson, the restaurant manager at Don Pepe’s Restaurant in McAllen, where they had breakfast together on Friday, revealed they were all over each other.

She told People: 'They were kissing.

'They were sitting next to each other hugging and kissing in front of the staff. They weren’t hiding it and seemed to be boyfriend and girlfriend.'

Selena was admitted to Dawn at The Meadows recovery centre in Arizona on January 5, and spent two weeks at the facility, which treats people aged 18 to 26 years old who are 'struggling with emotional trauma, addiction or dual diagnosis concerns.'

Her representative told MailOnline: 'Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but NOT for substance abuse.'

TMZ previously claimed that Selena blamed Justin for her 'predicament'.

Another source told Radar: 'Her friends and family became increasingly worried that there might be a serious problem with Selena.
'Particularly, her parents. The partying was, at times, wild. They wanted to help her -- and they very much encouraged her to go to rehab. Others very close to her also urged her to seek professional help.'

Meanwhile, it has been revealed Justin's former flame Chantel Jeffries is suing the New York Daily News and claiming it lied about her 'long criminal record'.

According to TMZ she has filed papers saying the publication 'maliciously and intentionally' printed a story saying she was arrested five times and is suing for ‘unspecified damages’.
