He tried his very best to slip under the radar when he landed in Los Angeles, but there was no such option for Liam Payne, who arrived back in London to a crowd of adoring fans.
Earlier this week, the One Direction star kept his head down and out of the scope of photographers as he made his way through LAX.
But today the singer took time to pose for photos with fans at Heathrow airport, who waited in the cold to see the Story of My Life hitmaker.
Payne took a series of pictures with different fans outside the airport, before he drove off in his waiting car.
From the looks of it, the One Direction star had been in dress down mode all week and this time was no different.
The 20-year-old wore comfortable clothes for the long-haul flight back to London, a plain black T-shirt and baggy black tracksuit bottoms.
His face was framed with a low, but fuzzy beard and he completed his outfit with a black baseball cap.
There have been recent rumours that Payne is the highest paid member of the group who found fame on The X Factor.
Factoring in all the entrepreneurial avenues such as perfumes, books, movies, world tours and of course millions of record sales, the band are reportedly worth a combined fortune of over £100 million.
But Payne and his band member Louis Tomlinson are said to be wealthier than their bandmates because they co-wrote almost half the songs on One Direction's latest album Midnight Memories.
And typically songwriters can earn around nine percent of each track's royalties.
He told The Sun: 'Louis and I have a little partnership going on. We've been pretty keen to start writing straight away,"
'I've been in the studio already, it's been going really well. Learning how to write is the best way of ensuring your career has longevity and that you have control over it.'
He added: 'I really think the next album is going to be a game-changer for us. I'm excited.'
