Miley Cyrus shares photo of garish manicure featuring marijuana leaf and swear words

Miley Cyrus just can't seem to stop courting controversy when it comes to her fashion choices.

This past week, the 21-year-old made yet another statement, though fear not - this time it's simply with her manicure.

Having already shown off more than her fair share of flesh to last a lifetime, the singer decided to express herself with a garish new manicure.

The white base colour was topped with gold nail art that depicted a cross, a smiley face, a marijuana leaf, a three-dimensional teddy bear head alongside some barely decipherable writing that appears to read 'oh s***' and the charming 'f*** you b****' scrawled on her middle finger.

'Got cray w my nailzzzzz they r giving me an anxiety attack,' the Wrecking Ball hitmaker wrote to accompany the photo posted to her Instagram account on Sunday.

While the star has been relatively quiet on the controversy front of late, it was only a matter of time before she struck again.

While it's no twerking against Santa Claus clad in a barely-there negligee, it's not exactly PG either.

The star has taken to Instagram to share several photos in recent days.

On Wednesday, she posted a cute picture of her as a precocious child, pulling an angry face.

'sick + tired + hormonal =' she captioned the image, along with an emoticon of a baby's face.

She also used the same pic a few days earlier to illustrate 'how I feel deep down inside'.

Clearly in a reflective mood, she also posted a flashback from her recent Saturday Night Live hosting gig, in which she is clad in her now-infamous teddy bear leotard alongside SNL regular Taran Killam as Robin Thicke, a guy in a giant pink teddy costume and several producers.

She reminisced: 'I wish I could go back to SNL'.

Hot on the heels of the confirmation that Tyra Banks is going to reprise her role of doll-turned-real girl Eve in the sequel to 2000 Disney flick Life-Size, Miley was quick to tweet her approval, writing 'OMG' over and over again.

She then apparently enjoyed another viewing of the film, which co-stars Lindsay Lohan - who has not been confirmed for the sequel.

'Shine bright. Shine far. Don't be shy. BE A STAR! Watching Life Size in honor of the sequel,' she Instagrammed along with a snapshot of the movie poster.
