Ariana Grande dresses well beyond her 20 years in miniscule sequinned LBD as she attends pre-Grammys brunch

Ariana Grande put the 'Little' in Little Black Dress as she stepped out in a positively miniscule sequinned number on Saturday.

The pint-sized singer was dressed well beyond her tender 20 years in the tight-fitting frock that barely grazed her derrière, exposing plenty of tanned skin.

Adding some much-needed height to her petite frame, the songstress completed her outfit with matching black platform heels as she strutted to Universal Music's annual pre-Grammys brunch at Lure in Hollywood.

The star wore her long brunette tresses in her signature '80s-style half-up, half-down 'do, while she donned plenty of complementary make-up and kept her accessories to a minimum.

She added a pop of colour to her ensemble with pretty deep red nail polish and matte lipstick that was perfectly colour-coordinated to match her Kabbalah string bracelet.

Ariana performed songs The Way and Tattooed Heart during the festivities, which were attended by 300 invited guests.

Other artists in the Universal family who performed at the luncheon include Robin Thicke, Kacey Musgraves, Neon Trees and newcomer Lorde - real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor.

Thicke and Yelich-O'Connor will compete in the prestigious Record Of The Year category for their respective smash hits Blurred Lines and Royals.

Father-of-one Robin, 36, was too cool for school in his standout pale blue three-piece suit, which he teamed with a white open-collar shirt, shiny black shoes and large aviators.

Meanwhile, the 17-year-old New Zealander stuck with her trademark all-black outfit, consisting of a plunging jumpsuit and platform boots, along with purple lipstick and her long brunette locks worn in messy curls.

Ariana, whose voice has been compared to that of legendary divas Mariah Carey and the late Whitney Houston, may have missed out on a Grammy nomination, but it's been confirmed that she'll take to the stage to present an award at tomorrow's illustrious ceremony.

Fans - affectionately dubbed Arianators - were up in arms when the newcomer was snubbed as it was expected that she would receive a nomination for Best New Artist.

Her first single, The Way, dropped on March 26 last year and quickly garnered the third best first-week sales figures of 2013.

The soulful tune, which featured rapper Mac Miller, debuted at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Upon its release in the States on September 3, her album Yours Truly topped the Billboard 200 albums chart.

The up-and-comer joins a star-studded list of presenters that include Alicia keys, Bruno Mars, Jamie Foxx and Anna Kendrick among others.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards, hosted by LL Cool J, will air live from LA's Staples Center Sunday at 8pm on CBS.
