Liam Payne from One Direction took to Twitter on Friday night to post a long apology to fans. The TwitLonger was apparently inspired by some "upsetting" signs he had seen held up at a recent event -- which led the young singer to believe that some fans might have been angry with him. Here's a screengrab of the message:

The note prompted an outpouring of responses from One Direction fans around the world, as well as from his personal buddies like Ashton from the boy band "5 Seconds of Summer."
Liam also responded directly to a few concerned fans to clarify the message he was trying to get across: That he hoped they didn't feel under-appreciated.
